Yes the bearing makes it much better than normal shifters....read soemwhere that short shifters can reduce the shifting time by 45%. So, its importance is obvious.

This will remove your stock gear shifter (Gear Stick) It shortens the throw of selecting gear thus allowing the driver to reduce shift time and change gears more efficiently.
