Shortage of childern routine vaccines

Hi Every body,

Just wanted to know there is ongoing shortage of kids vaccines in rwp/ Islamabad these days.

Following vaccines are short.

MMR
HAV
Varicella.

Any body has any clue from where can one get these vaccines in rwp/isb ?

Either there is no shortage, or people are not getting their kids vaccinated. So what seems to be the issue here?

Have you tried all the chain pharmacies like servaid, etc, they should almost always have everything. Also, try all the big pediatric hospitals and clinics (pharmacies attached to them). Try all the most expensive big name private hospitals (the pharmacies in them or attached to them).

There are two reasons if a pharma product is short. Either it wasn't selling in the small pharmacies and the company(ies) recalled product and resent stocks to where it was selling better. Or the regulatory authority is about to make a decision on application for price increase. Most likely it is the first reason. So just try the bigger/better pharmacies.

As I don't know the hospitals/clinics of Isl/RWP currently, I can't tell you where to go specifically.

Okay, I asked a few people, apparently there was global shortage a year ago due to gsk plant problems in europe. But that should have been resolved by now...It's hard to believe even quaid e azam and shifa don't have it....Also, did you try alternative brands ? There are combo vaccines and there are separate ones as well.

MMR is not available in Lahore. I've searched alot.
