Actuarial science is really tough field and need lots of Hardcore Mathematical and analytical skills to be able to clear exams and work in real life. mathematical skills are used to solve all the problems including Economics and Finance related problems.

If you think you are good in this skill then it would be good. but keep a mind that Job market here in Pakistan will definitely disappoint you.

I have last exam due and if I clear that I will get the Associate Actuary.

nowadays i am planning my career so em going through all the edu related threads ... i am thinking to do acturial science but many people are advising against it can you share your experiance ..BTW have you completed it?

if u really have the money apply for actuarial in canada at university of waterloo.the benefit of canada right now is that u would get work permit for two years or more after u have completed ur bachelor's and they also offer co-op so would have time to earn and get experience too while ur studying there....the program with co-op takes five years.....once ur done with ur degree they give u two years or more of work perit regardless u get a job or not.....if u do get ur job u can apply for permanent residency after the first six months of ur job and the time spent while u were studying in canada would count towards ur residence time needed for the immigration process.....so if u have the money go for canada and its really a investment into ur future and God forbid u dont get a job and after ur degree there are still plenty of ways to get permanent residency in Canada threw their provincial nomination programmes.

Hi. sorry, I saw this post now. yes I have completed Actuarial Science and right now pakistani market is in bad condition for actuaries.

I have my master degree in Actuarial Science from George State University, Atlanta. University has relaxation policy in admission process for Pakistani students and cost as low that you can complete your two year degree program in just PKR. 800,000/-. University offered one year paid internship program after completing your whole degree and also 2 year resident permanent after internship program. You can get scholarship opportunity if you have good academics.
