Should i buy Khyber as my first cheap car

Hi,

I want to buy car, but i have no experience in driving, Neither about cars.

I am also low on budget so went searching for cars.

I got a deal for about 180K for Khyber Car. But i am not sure weather price is just for this car and weather should i buy this car or not?
Need opinions to make my decision.

According to him, car is not major or minor accidental.
Number is Lahore Registered.
Engine is not original khyber. According to him engine is of Margalla, and is EFI engine. (I cant know as i have no knowledge of engines as well. Maybe anyone here can tell more from pics shared)
Model is of 1990.
Both CNG and Petrol.
A.C is not working.
He has Original Book according to him.
This is so far i know about it.

Also the replaced engine details are not updated in the book. So would that be a problem? Or can i update it and how much would it cost me?

i am sorry to say but from the condition of it, it is a heap of scrap, run as far as possible away from it. it is a jugaad up car and it is maintenance nightmare.

Cheap and first usually go hand in hand with Mehran = less maintenance, abundance of roadside assistance (mechanics)...

BTW, this particular car doesn't look in good nick.. i'd say don't go for it or u'll end up losing more money and may have a horrible experience to tell your coming generation about your first car!!

First thing is that don't try to purchase obsolete car.

There is a big carburetor in the pic...how can it be EFI.

Still if you want to purchase that car, hire a fulltime mechanic or better be a mechanic yourself

Thankyou all helping me decide weather to buy this car or not.

I am not going for this car anymore. I got it that it will cost me more on maintenance.

Thou as my first car, on which i want to learn to drive, Is there any car below 250K other than mehran in a well good condition that one can buy.
Mostly cars i see is FX or Mehran. which are also very old same as khyber.

Also i dont see any place where i can get on installments other than bank. As Banks Markup is very high like 17%.
If it would have been 10%, or even 11% i might would have gone for it.

Please can any one help me choose which car should i go for below 250K or should i hold my horses and wait couple of months more to get a better decent car.

Not to mention as i have not driven any car, i do not know driving other than driving a bike.

I'd say stick with your bike for the time being. Under 250k, you will not get a decent car anyways. So, if you don't mind going to mechanics quite often, then you can buy a Mehran or FX. Otherwise, add another 250k in it and go for a decent driveable car. Rest is up to you bro.

Dear Brother

Better to wait and add some more money to have peace of mind.
Vehicle in this price will keep you at workshops more often but the big benefit is you will be a master after some years.
