We had a similar tiddi swamp in Karachi too, the sky had a big black moving cloud of them. Not just the government, we citizens are equally responsible for killing birds that eat insects by either capturing them, or killing them, or cutting trees resulting in loss of their habitat. About that goat on a bicycle, on my last trip to Tharparkar recently, I'd seen 2 men carrying 2 large sized sheep on a motorbike, it was quite a sight. Since I was driving, I couldn't take pictures, but my fellow photographers did.
