Sir, it's no that easy.

Even if the member is able to trace address of the deceased owner and his family is willing to cooperate, a new 'Succession Certificate' has to be got issued from a Court of Law after going through its complete process. The family (legal heirs) shall have to engage a lawyer and appear before the court. Minimum time period is 3 months. Can even take up to 6 months. Not feasible for family of the deceased at all.

Then the transfer process from ETO Karachi to be executed. Money shall move from one hand to the other like anything.

@UAHMAD you are absolutely right brother.
It is a very long process and risk is very high,vehicle first transfered to the hiers of the owner abd after transfer of ownership they can cause trouble by claiming that the vehicle belongs to them. Its is very sensitive.

@uzeemujeeb brother i am driving the car in punjab from past 30 years and on registraion book ETO Bahawalpur mentioned that it i transfered on my name from past many years and they charge me the life time token tax amount (as per rule of punjab for 1000cc car, they said agr apne car punjab me chalni hai to punjab gov. Karachi k token ni mnti, ap ki car 1000cc hai isay punjab me lifetime token krwaen) and place lifetime token paid stamp on the book, i live in punjab and have to drive the vehicle in punjab so i had no option instead of lifetime token as ETO Bwp said.
And now when a excise officer asked on a checkpost for the book and toxen tax of the car, is saw them the lifetime tax paid on registration book and they let me go without any trouble.

Sir, I think under these circumstances you don't have any other option but to keep on driving your car with the old engine and within your native city premises, as before.

enjoy using the car. Though it is illegal by law., but like you said ETO offices have stamped the book it looks legal.

Fact remains it is a crime. By The law of land ETO BWP does not have jurisdiction to collect tax or transfer any other province vehicle without verifiable documents.
