Sir i have done the 3s-fe alteration mated to jimny 1.3 gear and diffrentials . My gear worked fine , sometimes slipped on the 1st gear launch but after 8 months of swap , the clutch plate slipped out of the main chooool of the gear or i say the cluster shaft. I then fitted an apv choool to the same gear , which gave the clutch plate more space to work . Now it's working top notch with no slipping .And is surely a beast . have done 160km./h on it. But i ll recommend to go for 1.3 DOHC M13A . just had it swapped in a soft top also with same gear and hissas . Has better mileage , power is awesome , a whole lot better than the stock one and drives like a stock car with no vibrations whatsoever. the 4x4 has been kept of the 1000cc creating an amazing torque in the 4L

I don't know much about 4X4s but going through the thread popped up something in my mind, I have kept a 3 door Suzuki Vitara with a carby G15 motor, had lots of torque. Why can't you go for that? Must be almost a bolt on swap wouldn't it?

If i have the Same SJ-410 i straight away Put in her available G15 (A.k.a Baleno Engine which came in newer Jimny) having its own Tranny which is rear wheel drive and i have seen many gear boxes in pindi the previous day . Believe me nothing can Beat the G15 in Suzuki because of many factors...and fuel average is also very very good.

help needed from senious members , regardiing SJ410.

I have recently purchaseed one. need to upgrade few things.

1 - Improve the brakes , currently brakes are very poor, Actually i want to convert drum brakes to Disc brakes.
2- Starring is very hard , is it possible to convert it to power starring.
3- Converting kamanies to Springs.

if anyone could guide me regarding cost , and Good mechanic in Lahore .

I was reading thread and actually think why people comment about something which they don't even know first of all 3s fe is a cheap engine with low end torque and fuel economy mostly better than the other engines of its class and the other thing is that jeeps are general purpose vehicle they are not meant for speed the 1.6 carbi engine of vitara is fuel efficient but lack of power am currently putting 3s in vitara already done swap for sj410 and it costs normally 120,000 with parts only as Suzuki parts are not cheap

Although this post is old, but i am sharing my experience for the other members' information only. I have CJ-5, and i installed following things
2C engine
Samurai Diffs
SSR gear box
prado streeing box
rocky suspension

Pros
Good mileage i.e 10-12km/liter
Stable
good in offroading
go upto 120km/hr
Cons
Too noisy in 5th gear and above 80km/hr, may be due to short rear drive shaft or soft top!

new to cars and jeeps especially 4x4 , can someone recommend putting 660 turbo engine in potohar and what gear option do you recommend for 660 turbo ? i dnt need for extreme off-roading just to get to northern areas and some off-roading there like going to saif ul malook or bardgoi top etc

First of all let me tell you the best possible swaps for potohar are g13 or G15 the one which comes with rwd application or m13 that comes in jimny. Other than this every swap requires alot of cutting and welding. However potohar is not a good suv when it comes to stability so my preference is if you go with its oem engine. Oem engine is powerful enough for the balance and stability it has. If you are going for the above swaps remember load your pocket with good stash. As good m or g swap will cost you around 450-500k or even more. And then you will have to spend more on stability and balance. Which will cost you nearly 6-700k which is a very big amount. So spend wisely and get a vitara or jimny in that price bracket... Thanks

@noman8ff can you guide me a bit about potohar 1000cc to 660c turbo epi conversion . Is this a good fit, as its boult on, just that i read from your post is non efi to efi is not a good coversion so what do you recommend here. Thanks
