fidgeting around with a smart key is playing russian roulette, but as I said toyota are quite "open" and can easily be broken into, be very careful with such orphan cars having smart keys which you cannot get in Pakistan. Getting some individual private guy to "MAKE" you such a key is plain crazy IMO, the car can become a basket case and if you want to get it back to factory spec then you need to spend a huge amount of money to replace all required parts with "new original parts"
My wife drives a smart key Nissan Altima here in the US, It came with 2 of them, one of which was replaced under factory warranty, the new one was Usd 280/- I didnt pay one cent for it as it was not my fault, the key was good the car somehow forgot that certain key, it would not let that key work either, so a new key was provided. I have put it in a plastic baggie so perfume, mascara, lipstick, baby cereal, candy etc cannot damage it while in her purse.
When I drive it, I remove it from my pocket and keep it in the cubby hole near the gear lever.
