Opening the carbon hood reveals probably the most extreme engine Top Secret has ever built, the 943PS and 103 kgm twin-turbo 1GZ. This 5L V12 has been lifted from the Japan-only Toyota Century, dropped into the Supra and mated to two HKS GT2835 turbochargers. As you can imagine a transplant of this nature required a lot of work...
The engine work includes custom engine mounts, a dry-sump conversion with an upgraded ORC oil pump, V-mounted oil coolers, custom fuel system and twin HKS F-Con V Pro ECU's to keep everything under control. The stock 6-speed Getrag JZA80 transmission remains but is mated to an ORC clutch and LSD.

Toyota Smokey Nagata likes to smoke his tires on freeways all over the world. While his stunts may not be lawful or even sane, he continues to find new territory in which to get his thrills. After being arrested in England and New Zealand, he has finally taken his action off the streets and onto the Nardo Ring test track in Italy. Reportedly, the twin turbo V12 Top Secret Supra, driven by Smokey, achieved a top speed of 222 mph (358 km/h) at Nardo.

The JB-DETi 660cc engine has been lightly modified. The turbo's intake has been upgraded as well as an upgraded intercooler. The engine has been tuned with an HKS F-Con V Pro. The original 64 hp has been boosted to a little over 100 hp.
That's stock Miata power, but in a car that's 1000 pounds lighter. Copen's may be front-wheel drive but imagine flogging this car around with its upgraded suspension, sticky tires and with 100 horses to play around with. Sounds like a load of fun to me!
