The chrome surface rust can be revitalized without spending a single penny on any fancy products, you can do it easily with household cleaning stuff, just follow these simple steps and your bike chrome will look like Brand New Guaranteed:
You will need the following:
1. Worn out old Scotch brite
2. Soapy detergent solution

Just scrub the chrome, galvanized and brush finish parts of your bike with wet soapy Scotch bright and it will remove the surface rust 100%. Make sure the area you are treating is wet with the soapy solution otherwise the scrubbing can cause minor scratches to the chrome.
For Painted Parts: Dont apply the same technique to painted parts.
For Rust Prevention: To prevent rust on the wheels and chrome mudguards you need to apply Red Oxide to the underneath surface. A clean polished bike will accumulate less amount rust then unattended bike. Just Keep her Clean.
If the rust has eaten up all the chrome obviously the above mentioned technique will not work. BTW its cheaper to replace the mudguards and wheels than re-chroming them here in Karachi.
