My Civic 02' wiper would not go to park at lowest position when I would switch off the wiper or in the intermittent mode.
Problem was the sliding contacts breaking in the motor assembly due to grease getting sticky.
I searched the web but could not found a remedy rather replacement of motor or the motor cover that includes the slip rings within.
The wiper assembly taken out. Refer to service manual to get to it.
Cover removed. See the darkened sticky grease around the slip ring area. Note the position of the rotating part for re-assembly.
Clean of the sticky grease. Slightly rub the rings with Emery paper. Specially the copper contacts. Use some solvent to clean it off. There are two contact points.
Apply clean grease from the gears to lubricate.
Hopefully this will solve the issue.
