what if the stolen plate - The person (Thief) reach excise office before you with an FIR for plates & book stolen from car and block the file ?

You better submit the report to Excise office get a duplicate plate issues and stamped on papers. [/I]

Okay i am a bit confused here.. how can the thief get FIR registered for robbery of car plates AND the registration book?? surely the police will want some identification before making the FIR.. and i realize there is a lot of underhanded dealings going in civic center but surely they will want to see the original nic of the owner before issuing a duplicate book and plates..

I think I posted this a long time ago to install your original no. plates with security screws or break off screws and nuts on their backs (a drop of loctite will also help) - this makes sure that anyone who is planning to steal them has got to remove the bumper first then take them out or open up the boot and use some fancy tools to remove the rear plate.

DONT MAKE IT EASY TO REMOVE THE PLATES.

Dont get yourself into the resale bit, Resale will not give you ladoo or make you a billionaire. In your case if you dont take action and the smart thief does to extract your file then your car will be worth exactly ZERO rupees.

mushkil se khulnay waala pech - simple terms, any screw which requires a special tool to open would work, security torx, twin hole etc.

you are simply wasting time thinking about resale.

There are people who can get complete car file & duplicate plates issued for Rs. 25000.00 without asking any question.

There is 2011 thread for a Corolla GLI being used in explosive transportation in islamabad and nabbed at the motorway. With a karachi number & papers while original car was parked at Karachi home covered & original file papers at office, one plate stolen 3 months before (the incident) report launched and owner was away in USA

I've the fixed the original plate in front and fixed the fancy one at back .. and the original one of back is always in my trunk .. whenever I've to go Karachi I fixes the original one .. and in interior I use the fancy plates .... and Sorry bro for your loss .. now the people who are following the rules are in trouble ..

you should register FIR as the number could be used in crime or attempt to steal another car

Reasons are these plates used by terrorists and car theives.
Go to police and register FIR at earliest.
Get the new plates from exice. don't know what they do in karachi. or you can get from market but they aren't original.
