ummm how are u calculating the tuning frequency? according to my calculation, for 38hz u only need a port length of around 2.75 inches... ur tuning is coming out to be around 20 hz.... which calculator are u using?

U are right. If u go for a straight port design

In ur case box dimensions will also change

I went for the 2nd order tuned box as the guy wanted some volume

Changing the height of pipe from base floor will tune the loudness in my design

I found the software from a lab where my fellow works

Im connected to some research work so the software is indigenous and proprietry

You sure its tuned @ 38-40hz and will be loud?
My amp's power supply from the battery is fine.
And are you sure the port lenght should be 20" as madhouse suggested it should be 2.75"???

@bilalbinrais12....y not go with a band pass woofer box ?? i have tried every order and found band pass( L-shaped) more louder and cleaner.

Band pass as the name suggests ony respond to a little frequency range

Ported ones like in my design will resonate at 38 and will cover above frequencies what the woofer can produce

2nd order tuned box? height of pipe from base tuning loudness? are u sure u know what u are talking about? in any case atleast a port diameter is recommended as distance between base and "pipe".

the box u have "tuned" is at around 18-20 hz. i didnt calculate it using a "propriety" software or anything, i used bass box pro. the bend and the distance from base has no effect on the tuning unless the port is too close to the base.

i think u or ur friend needs to fix ur software. it doesnt know the difference between 18hz and 38 hz. also u have not given the volume of the braces used. that too will have an effect on total internal volume of the box.

this is the recommended box from sony. i suggest u go with this one.

this is tuned at 40 hz so pretty close to 38 hz.

by the way, its not about going loud only. bilal here is insisting that his box is tuned at 38hz whereas it is not. if u want to go loud, contact splfanatic. i'll recommend the best tuning that will go loud and be musical at the same time.
