Its a fiber like material [hardens and when resin applied to it ] placed between car inner carpet and bottom metal body..

Namda = (Jute) Carpet Underlay : insulation, softness, carpet protection and proper fitting etc.

beneath the floor carpet on the floor, there is a layer of rubber insulation of about 3 to 4 mm thick.
the purpose of this layers is to protect the body from corrosion as well as to protect direct contact of any material with metal body. this 3 to 4 mm layer is normally of rubber type material. paint is done over this layer.
