I am facing a strange issue now a days.
First of all, I do regular maintenance and check fluid levels. I changed engine oil just a month ago.
The issue is heat coming from engine bay. There is no engine heat light, and cool blue light remains for about 2-3 minutes after cold start. I checked coolant level and it was full. No leak or steam coming out. There is no distinct smell. Radiator fans turn on periodically they way they should.
Now the important thing is this heat comes after just 4 kilometre drive on light foot, not going above 1500 rpm. When I open the hood for about 10 minutes, engine cools down pretty fast. Somehow the heat is getting locked in. I know out temperature now a days is above 35 and it makes sense.
Is it normal for hood to feel warmer than usual now a days? Even after short drive. @Spano
BTW I am using ZIC 0W-20. Could this be the problem ? Engine oil not able to keep engine temperature in above 35 degree ambient.
I take this car on long route, and it did just fine, even in hot temperatures of 15-16 April.
Any idea ?
