My experience, many people don't search and think parts are expensive.
Vitz wasn't as common 3-4 saal pehle as it is today.
We had to change our vitzes rear shock absorbers and were told kabuli lagwalo 2500 ka ek. Naya to bohat mehnga hota hai bla bla, on visiting plaza got a Malaysian made new rs.3500 per peice.
Since vitz is available in china/Taiwan and other Asian markets, Taiwanese parts arnt very expensive. Bumper roughly costs 4500-6000. Got a rear light complete for 8k 2008 model original koito not depo.
Depo lights costs roughly 5-6k, side mirror is a common stolen item genuine ones cost around 18k brand new, some importer or scrap dealer can get them for 8-9k.
Another solution is Pakistani made plastic brackets cost 500-600 and corolla retractable mirrors can be fitted Chinese made costs
2200-2400 unretractable, genuine ones costs 6500 per peice.
Retractable onese can be sourced for 4-8k per peice.
Similarly we had been looted alot for Suzuki baleno iginition coils Suzuki dealer ship used to sell the entire set for 18k, scrap set costed 7-9k depending on your negotiation skills. Pakistani packed Chinese ultima set costs around 5k complete and does the job with peace of mind that you purchased a new set and it would last 20-30k kms.
I'm against buying suspension or any part that is deprecated with use from scrap markets but body parts, lights, electric motors panels can be purchased if you get a better deal.
Once in case of baleno we had to purchase the cross what mechanics call gatri from sheir shah since they weren't available anywhere, and Suzuki told us since the car is not manufactured no parts. When my mechanic was changing it he actually felt it to be off better quality from what had been fitted in our car from paksuzuki
Edit: so in my case sourcing Japanese cars parts was easier then a local assembeled ones.
One more thing Corolla 2009-2011 back outer light original costed 13500
