This car is in great condition I think. The body look really solid and original.
@spitfire, the floor near has been cut or is it like this on all models? And the steering wheel, is it a standard Morris item?

@ spitfire: Very good spotting the car certainly has the restoration potential... mind if I request you to get some info on asking price and condition of motor (only if convenient) I say this because I live far away... this is a kind of project I would love to venture in.

you are right.Its not that taxi model.its two door and split screen and I think pre sixties model...

The floor is not cut its like this.Actually there is a cover on this opening and it is originally like this...
and steering wheel is also original,clocks too..

you are absolulety right that it has the restoration potential..original motor is there and in working condition (neighbouring shopkeepers told me).
I will try to locate the owner and will ask price if its for sale...in a few days

Wot bugs me is that if the ppl don't want the car, why don't they dispose of it properly.

I'm sure there are scrapyards in Pakistan. No wonder ther west has this image of Pakistan being an eyesore.

I just want to add to your observation. I had contacted the owner of this split screen Morris Minor 1000 (50's model) a year back while passing by the street. The owner is a photographer and his story is that the car is in running condition and has accessories stored and are not missing (as appears) due to a paint job which was initiated back then. He is willing to sell and asking 100K plus for it.

I think Ramzan, the old Morris Parts Dealer in Rawalpindi is negotiating to acquire this moggie, this is surely an early 50's "lowlight" model with traficators as some one rightly pointed out. The spares are available in the UK and this car has all the potential to be brought back to her former glory - some examples of great restorations can be seen at www.team-bhp.com an indian website for auto enthusiasts. The website has always been a great source of learning and inspiration for me.
