Salarze, GM is trying hard to address the stigma attached to previous Camaros. But remember, they have a customer base that not only adores this car; they provide plenty of free buzz for GM to not notice them. Yes, the white jobless kind. It is priced right, at least in the US, for mass appeal and the performance puts it ahead of the other cars in the same segment.
Price gouging phenomenon in the auto sector is not uncommon in the US either. Regardless of the brand, any new vehicle with high public interest always brings out the worst in car dealers; regardless of actual customer demand. Considering when you have people lined up around the block to put their money where their mouth is; dealer premiums get equally unreasonable. I remember when Viper was launched; $15K+ dealer premium was considered very reasonable. This is what you had to pay on top of the sticker price, a price which already includes dealer’s profit. At the moment, even with horrible auto sales, ZR1 commands a significant dealer premium.
Storm, are you talking about booking it through a Pakistani Chevy dealer or a UK one?
John Hennessey of Hennessey Performance, famous for their Chrysler products, has decided to focus on GM products as well. They will be offering a 705HP Camaro, HPE700, with a modified LS9 motor making 717lb-ft of neck snapping torque!
My white jobless buddy and I are already working on our mullets.
