In the late 1980s, Subaru created the Subaru Tecnica International (STI) division to coordinate development for the FIA World Rally Championship and other motorsports activities. After the company had grown, the division was used to create high-performance consumer versions of the Subaru Impreza WRX, a all-wheel drive car with a turbocharged flat-4 engine, leading to the development of the Impreza WRX STi. Subaru has used a race-prepared version of the WRX STI as its rally platform since the model trim's creation.

I'm surprised no one noticed that this is actually an STi WR1 special edition. There were only 500 of these cars produced and "Ice Blue" (pictured) was the only color available. Power is quoted as 320 bhp.

That's STI version 8 i guess.. It's around 300bhp and the colour is unique because this is a limited edition. Not many around.

The subaru impreza WRX racing car version has boxer engine (horizontally opposed piston/cylinder assembly) only used in some model of Porsche, which enables these cars to have extremely low center of gravity. The normal-road version of these cars don't have boxer engine for reduction in price.

Also, it is one of the most popular cars in Australia and one of the most snatched cars too so they have a pretty neat factory installed anti-theft system the engine immobilizer jams the engine if the driver side door is opend from the outside after car has been running.
