Qwerty: Great spottings. Are you using spot metering for exposure? It looks like you are using multi-point metering, but for nights shots like these, going to spot metering may give better results. Just a thought.
Not using spot it is multipoint. using spot metering will imo increase the exposure time required and that really isn't an option whilst going in a car at 50kph, these pics are already underexposed so that a steady shot is obtained

Good points, but I assume you have tried adding a higher ISO and wide open aperture?
May be adjusting exposure with post-processing would be a better choice?
