as someone who has used an electric bike for a couple of years, I'll tell you the main issue.
It isn't the bike itself or the price.
It's the fact that not one electric bike manufacturer here keeps a stock of its spares. Even something simple like a charger has a multiple-day waiting period when they import it from China.
That is simply unacceptable. Any decent bike (or car) manufacturer should keep an inventory of its spares, otherwise, it is nothing more than a big and expensive cloth hanger to be parked in the garage.
And keep in mind that these bikes do need spares. They aren't maintenance-free like people here like to think.
