Dear Waqas,
In market i have seen ELCB in max cases as 63Amps. Greater than 63Amp comes or not, i dont know about it. So if house laod is expected to exceed 63Amp at any time then you shall go for 2 ELCBs. Following are different cases for ELCB installation. You can analyze your situation by your self.
Case-1:
Some peoples dont like to come from 1st floor to Ground Floor to switich on the ELCB especially. Because ELCB can be trip at any time. So regardless of load or home size , some peoples install 63AMP breakedr in Ground floor DB and separate 63AMP at 1st Floor DB for their convenience.
Case-2:
If you are going to have 2 ELCBs , one for ground floor and one for 1st floor then follow below points;
1-Give 1 ELCB in ground floor DB and other at 1st Floor DB
2-Main wires from meter (regardless of single phase or 3 phase) will 1st come to thimble based 100 AMPs jointer strip inlet (its explained in above threads). Jointer strip will have 3 outlets.
a) Input to ground Floor ELCB
b)Input to 1st Floor ELCB
c) Input for Power Socket (optional but highly recommended)
Case 3:
When you have plan only for 1 ELCB in house
1- Install ELCB at ground floor DB not in 1st
2- If 128 AMP ELCB available then go for it if house load is expecetd to >63Amps.
Follow below points for this case;
a) Wires from meter will come to 100AMP jointer strip 1st
b)there will be 2 outlet of jointer strip, 1st will serve as input for ELCB and 2nd will serve as input for power socket
c)Wires from ELCB outlet will again go to jointer strip. Jointer strip outlet again have 2 points, 1st will be supplying electricity to ground floor DB circuit, 2nd outlet option will supplying current for 1st floor bunch. This whole circuit will be of 7/64 or 7/52 as per requirement. Dont go for 7/44
