Thank you Ahmed bahi. Yes acoustically The X wins some points, since it is a very quiet car, too little engine and road noise.
I think everyone should have a nice setup to listen to according to his liking, weather be a competition install, a good home stereo or even a car with factory installed SQ setup. I have my HT (designed tuned Mark Levinson) as reference setup to know what i am aiming for.
Before the install even began, all the things i can muster up or borrow were tested. We tried different amps, subs, comps and even head units in our mobile test lab (Thanks to AD bhai) So the best combo i came up with (to my listening preferences) was the combo which you now see in the X.
Why i choose 2 way vs 3 way.
I would like to highlight a few plus points of the Morel Elate Limited 2 way components.
Starting with the tweeter MT24LE specs
Fs= 700HZ
FR= 1400 to 25000hz
RMS= 130 watts
Silk, dome tweeters.
Cross over point = 1800hz
What i want to point out here is these tweeters are not like what we are accustomed to. Looking at the fs, FR and the xo point, its certain that a lot of vocal information is passing through the tweeters. These are not just tweeters these are more of a hybrid b/w tweeter and a mid-range. Being silk dome they do not sound harsh, Being domes they have a wider spread and much better off axis response and the power handling is great. These tweeters have authority they do not sound bleak and tiny, they sound smooth, wide and open. These are so transparent that sometimes i have to check with balance control to check weather the working or not.
Bottom line is they do not sound like the conventional 2 way sets or tweeters we are accustomed to.
As for the 6 inch SW 6LE driver.
FS= 50hz
FR= 25 - 4000hz
RMS= 200 watts
voice coil dia= staggering 3 inch
xmax = 5.0 mm
With an fs of 50zh fr goes down to 25hz, 3 in voice coil and 5 mm xmas, tells alot how this speaker will perform in the lower midbass region. I can easily cut them lower than the conventional 80hz xo point (I think i can go 50hz -24db with them). Meaning better up front bass, better subwoofer transparency.
These were the main points i opted for a 2 way instead of a 3 way.
Not denying the fact that if i had a 3 way of the same series, they would perform even better. Simply highlighting the do not sound like the 2 way we are accustomed to.
