Strong smell of petrol from bike

Salam all brothers on PWs.

Brothers I have a problem with my cg125 classic 2008 bike. The bike smells very strongly of petrol in the morning. It feels like there is open petrol near by. I checked the floor but there is no spots of petrol. But still smell is too strong. Also the bike has started giving very bad mileage, about 30 km/h. I have got it tuned recently but i dont suspect bad tuning to be the problem (as I am using same mechanic for tuning for over a year now). It seems like petrol is leaking from some where. But I am not able to pin point. I go to office and park bike for 8 hours and after I come there is very strong smell of petrol coming from bike. At home it is parked till morning and in the morning there is very strong petrol smell. Yesterday night I cut off petrol supply by rotating the 'key'. But this morning bike didnt start. I had to open the petrol line again. That means the petrol in the carburetor had gone over night!
Can someone kindly help me in this regard ??

i have no idea. may be there is leakage from fuel regulator or carburetor

If you cant find the petrol anywhere on ground or bike than there may be some loose nut which is allowing direct evaporation. Check the tank outlet of petrol i suspect may be leakage is from there

A leaking gas tank has nothing to do with poor starting. Seems as if the fuel is escaping from your carb - more presicely, you need to inspect needle valve, level float, float chamber and overflow jet. A faulty needle valve and or level float can result in poor starting, leaks etc. Have your carb inspected by a competant mechanic, I am sure your problem will be solved.

Having said that, one must inspect the fuel line (tank, filters, fuel tap, and pipe) regularly.

dear when you turn off your bike u must turn off the petrol as well, the smell of petrol came from under your bike bcoz after you stop your bike, its petrol is over , it throws the petrol and petrol evapurates in the air , thats y u didnt find any sign of petrol under your bike, one more thing , checked it from mechanic, its consuming more petrol than rutine, thnx, hope you u get my point..

long and short if u r new to carb then i would suggest u take it to a mechanic and tell him,,
dont fiddle with float urself,,its very hard to get it correct once u change it,,

Check the fuel kay, it should keep dry at all times. Also check the pipe linked to the tank it might be leaking from there. Also check for leaks from any joint, thoroughly check the tank from below.

one thing i would like to add, today i went to my aunts house. when i parked bike there I immediately checked the over flow petrol line and its tip was wet with petrol. How is it that petrol is overflowing when I am riding my bike? my mechanic is off on sundays so I will give him bike next saturday (as I am very busy on weekdays).

I think thats cause u park your bike for 8hrs in direct sunlight

no brother. at home bike is parked under garage shade and also at my work there is shade under which bike is parked.

Check the fuel kay, it should keep dry at all times. Also check the pipe linked to the tank it might be leaking from there. Also check for leaks from any joint, thoroughly check the tank from below.

i have checked the fuel key. it is dry. the fuel line is also dry. I have not checked the fuel tank for leaks. i will do that today.
i have filled my tank fully and I will keep the fuel key to off when i park my bike. and i will check this for one week. if doing this solves my problem then it will surely be that carb is overflowing. if this doesnt work then i will start to look for leaks elseswhere.

I had my bike washed today and when I came home I saw the right side of engine has some kind of oily deposit. It looks like a leak coming from where the 'race' cable goes into the engine. I am posting some pics. Does this have something to do with the smell of petrol i get from the bike? or is it engine oil leaking?

If sum rookie messes up with the drums(floats) of the carb then this can easily happen.. i guess then u carb is the culprit..
Get the carb tuned by a real guru! a messed up carb can be a real pain in the bottoms!

but this seems probably due to right gasket + any seals that are meant to seal sourroundings of the cable,,

if u washed it today and then this is the aftermath then its extremely serious issue,, check ur engine oil and immediately sort out,,
uise high tem silicone gasket when replacing gasket,,

yes brother these pics are after about 20 minutes of wash. I rode the bike straight from service station to home. If i had not washed it I would think it was some dirt. But since I washed it and rode it home the whole bike was clean except this area. I will get it checked on Saturday from my mechanic. Do you know if Honda makes these gaskets? I mean are genuine ones available from honda 5s dealers?

not sure,, but if honda makes one thenb go for them is the price diff is reasonable to u,, but bre sure to apply high temp silicone .. this will seal it excellant,,

and if u open this side u will need to change the oil as well,, if u changed it recently then pour it into a clean bottle/tub and when pouring it make sure no dust/sand has been mixed with it,, however i would suggest u to not re use the old oil,, instead go for temporary fix,, which is to clean the surface ,, and apply curil to the suspected places,, this will stop lean for some time,,, until u r done away with the used oil,, this is less risky as compared to reusing old oil,,curil costs 45-60 rs,, forgot the exact price

and this engine oil seepage/leakage wont give u any noticible smell if u just stand by next to ur bike,

mere pass honda CG125 2017 hai, us se petrol ki buht smell atti hai. Maine sb chk kiya hai lekin kahin se b leak nahi hai.
