there u have proof from a reliable source.
and by the way...specs of the woofer are different from the specs of the box that the manufacturer recommends. he is talking about the company specs of the box.
ask any audio expert in the world, and they will tell you that the company box sizes given are for the average user and not going to give you the optimum design or performance that "YOU" need. the company recommendation is usually at a certain frequency, or for a certain type of music...and not necessarily give u a flat response or SPL frequency of your choosing. for that you will ALWAYS have to design something from ur own knowledge/experience.
company recommended designs are not bad...but they are never going to satisfy the needs of an audiophile. i do not like company designs because they do not give me the sort of SPL or Kick that i want from the woofer. person A might love them but person B might hate them - its all about preferences
if u dont believe what i say from my experience...u may check this website..Speaker Enclosure Volume Calculator
its considered a very reliable source of information.
@faisi...the thing is that what enerlevel says is also backed by the systems he has developed...u can checkout his previous systems by a simple search if u want. from SQ to pure SPL...he has done it all...and half of the systems in PWs members cars are setup by him...and they are all kick ***...so we have living proof of the DEVIL's work
so now shouldnt we rely on that more than whats written in books and magazines?? we can all come up with very convincing proofs from different mags and website...but its useless. at the end of the day it all boils down to how u have implemented ur system and how it sounds...not what it looks like on paper and in pictures.
lets be civil about it and not point fingers at each others
