in the United States 87 goes as regular and 89 as premium.
All BMWs & Benzes are said to be for 89 fuel, while most Hondas, Fords, Toyotas, Nissans, Mitsus and the like vehicles are said to be set for 87 regular fuel while many of their sport counterparts are designed for premium.

@humangenius: yes you are correct they sell 87, 89 ,91 but these are PON (Pump octane number) whereas RON is Research Octane number.

To convert PON to RON, simply add 5 to PON.

So basically in america they have 92, 94 and 96 RON.

^ if b18 is running fine on local hioctane., i wonder how good itwill respond on jdm fuel? or even better

how abt race fuel?. then you will find out local hioctane was not correct for b18
