Introduction
In this small but precise write up I will give to a brief idea about Suzuki SJ410 1988.
Traveling is my second hobby to support me in taking photographs of amazing landscapes of Pakistan. Therefore, I rode my SJ410 till Sust border via KKH, Pakistan. More than 70% of road was in very good condition however rest of 30% was challenging for Leaf spring 4 x 4 vehicle. This trip was actually to complete my last adventure for blossom which I had to leave in the middle due to heavy land sliding on KKH.

Planning
Every year I normally go somewhere in Pakistan. This year I had planned to visit Hunza, Nagar, Gulmit, Sust and surrounding to take photographs in Blossom. For this reason, I had to get proper checkup of my SJ410 as it would be a long journey for her.
As suggested, I had to get following things done so that she doesn't miss behave during my trip
⢠New wheel bearing
⢠Pins adjustments
⢠Tuning
⢠Greesing
Beside that I kept some items with me during my traveling such as extra wheel bearing, Oil seals, Greese, complete tool kit etc. Considering the fact that its small vehicle with medium size fuel tank (40-45ltr) I kept exta 20 ltr fuel with me as well.

Towards Destination

Whole journey went well. Little bouncy but not as uncomfortable as told by a lot of people.
I used low pressure to make my ride more comfortable and to add better grip I.e 18 psi ā 20 psi with full load 250-280kg.
I along with my other friend drove it straight till Gilgit with small stops like 10-15 mins for Namaz, Tea / food.
Left Islamabad at around 12am and reached Gilgit around 9 pm next evening.
Alhumdolillah, on our way towards Gilgit we had no issue at all.
Left for Hunza next morning and reached there in approximately 3 hrs

In town she did well upto karimabad, Minapan, Hooper etc. However, cliaming up to Eagle nest was a bit hard for her. Hmmm! Say a little more than a bit
.
Slight rest before steep climb and good momentum did the job very well. Let me tell you, this time I also preferred to leave my extra stuff at hotel room to even reduce weight. At one point she just ignored my call and decided not to react. Local mechanic who was just passing by told us that fuel filter need to be replaced which got choked. Guess what I dint bring fuel filter. Even after knowing the fact that fuel quality is very poor in this area. Thanks to another friend who was coming in couple of days, he did a big favour and brought a good quality fuel filter. After changing that filter She did very well.
I strongly believe that this 1000cc engine doesn't produce enough horses to pull the beast when loaded. For that reason, a newer technology 660cc might do the job. However, 1300cc engine is meant for this very reason.

Speeding
While going towards my destination SJ410 hardly crossed 80km/hr. While coming back I touched 90-95km/hr. Both were on straight road. On hilly areas I hardly crossed 40km/hr.
Findings
Lemme make life easier
Its good but slow
Its capable but struggle
Its bouncy but comfy as well
Its reliable but sensitive as its petrol
Its cheap, easy to fix but nothing. Its just cheap in parts and easy to fix.
Back to civilization

Post trip inspection
Did a whole lot of inspection, tuning and decided to change 4x4 gear seals as it already had a bit of moisture. Shaft boots due to small cracks. Topped up oil In main gear and 4 x 4.

Alhumdilillah shaft was all ok.
