Today for the 1st time poured high octane in my car mixed with normal fuel. Previously i have always poured normal fuel but thought maybe its a good idea to get a mix of both. Lets see if it brings any change in my fuel average.

Don't exactly remember who, but someone here said, mixing Hi Octane will not make any difference in fuel average, its simply a myth. However, you may get better pick.

Neither you get better pick nor the fuel average increase. I poured whole tank of hi-octane didn't get any difference in pick and fuel average.

Haha, the proof is here. Then what's the point in using Hi Octane fuel in economical cars? I guess it is of no use if car is designed / manufactured to use regular grade fuel.

I think the benefit would lie in terms of general health of your engine even if nothing else improves. I mean we dont really get good petrol in Pakistan, most of the times its usually mixed, so adding high octane (though not sure not much high octane in reality it is) should at least balance the RON to above 90. Petrol pumps claim it to be 97 RON for high octane and 92 for regular.

that must be me, mixing high and low octane fuel is a baandar theory. Its not dahi which is made in chain reaction of old dahi you introduce 1 chamach dahi to milk and rest becomes dahi too next morning

when you mix high and low octane fuel the low octane fuel will win regardless of circumstances.

yeye, for the exact reason look for a company operated pump in your vicinity, you will live a happy life.

company operated pumps calibrate machines every 12 hour and also keep the exact (or try to) quality of batch which came out of refinery to your car. We are blessed in islamabad to have two attock fuel pumps in f-11 both are company operated and sell the best fuel in pakistan i can bet a grand on it.

Suzuki alto 2012 pkdm 1000cc declared gas guzzler by pakistanis used to give me 14-15 km/l with AC in local driving conditions, only once in my driving life i refueled from PSO f-8 and the car gave me 9 km/l .

Yeah, that was you who said so I wasn't sure that's why didn't mention you.

There are very few Attock petrol pumps in Karachi, and strange to note, there is not a single Attock Petrol pump in my vicinity (Gulshan e Iqbal, Federal B Area or Gulshan e Johar)

However, there are some company operated PSO pumps, are they good to go?

Try HASCOL to top up next time it is located in Block 10 Gul. Johar Karachi when you take exit on left from Suparco into Gul.Johar from university road it is on left

also located at university road after askari park, next is opposite New Town Police station at TV station road, 1 is at main jahangir road

Since we are talking about fuel quality, Yes i agree the hiOctance doesnt do much on the average side, But it does keeps the engine knocking free.

i used a fill a 10 liter in 1 out of 3 or 4 full tanks, the car never knocked, since fuel went cross 103 i havent used hi octane, i can feel my wagonR knock on hi gears and low revs

Since the time I bought the car apart from one time when i took the delivery only Shell was near to me, i have used only one petrol pump which belongs to PSO and is in DHA on ghazi road.
PS what do you mean company operated? There are 3 pumps in my vicinity, PSO, Shell and Total.

Means no dealer intervention. Pure as from the company. I only use PSO Ittehad in KHI and am very satisfied

I am using PSO on ghazi road when you are going towards new airport it will come on right side. Total is also OK the one near to lalak jaan chowk.
