AOA Rashid,

What mileage you were getting before and what mileage you are getting now? My engine check light is also on and its same O2 sensor issue. From where can I get it? and cost?

These will improve pick of car and good for few years.Recently i bought them for 950Rs each.

Change the plugs to OEM see owner manual for partnumber. should not cost you more then RS 150 for copper ones.
Changing the O2 sensor RS 1000 on a 5 year old car is not a bad bet if you get even a 1KM/lit increase.1000/8= 125 KM Rate of return.

Please understand this that mileage is dependent on many factors.

1) Weight inside the car, luggage or people.
2) Rush time or empty roads.
3) How you drive the car.

There are the reasons beside technical stuff which impacts mileage.

1) How can you expect a car to do same mileage with 1 person sitting with the car in which 5 person are sitting.
2) Empty roads results in getting good mileage, may it be inside city or Highways.
3) How are you pushing your car, speeding then breaking or doing it little wisely.

Hey Rashid, i got the plugs from gawalmandi. there is a shop called rahmania autos. He has these iridium spark plug. i got the tyres changed. hjave got dunlop 165/65 R13.the car has oringinal 13 Rim. From where did u got ur checked ? i went to suzuki central motors for the tuning. but didn't changed the plugs. i will get them replaced today. My car is giving 14km/litre locally with AC on. how much average is ur car giving ?

Do u have user mannual book of this car ? i need one.

Dear ahmed, Thanks for the location of the Rahmania Autos.Tire size is perfect, I have japanese 14 size rim with low profile 165/55/14 and that is why it is giving a little low millage but I still have to refuel and I think it will show better result.

I got my car checked from Nazir Autoes, very known and old electricians in G/8 Islamabad.They have a big setup, you will like it.

My car's plugs are weak, so have to change them then I will see the result.

I bought it from kabari in Rawalpindi saddar, but I have two spare in my car boot, i still have to return them, if you want I can give them to you but where do you live.you city is not mentioned.

whoever told you this car can return you more than 13 or 14 km/lit is probably lying. The only way you will get that economy is if you drive it under 2000 rpm, which you wont because the car would be going 20 or 30 km/h in top gear. Economy is determined by how hard the engine is lugged for work. If you drive it fast the engine would spin really fast as this car is geared really low to make up for the missing torque of the 660cc - which would waste a lot of fuel.

and installing a used O2 sensor is like expecting gold from polishing brass. Get a new O2 sensor, its not cheap though.

Thanks for your useful information. One thing we know now is that we can put Baleno O2 sensor and we just have to use the old gripper of Alto. I don't think that Baleno O2 sensor is too expensive.

you can put in any japanese O2 sensor - they are all standard.

@Xulfiqar: cleaning of existing O2 sensor would make any difference on the mileage ?

cleaning the existing sensor should help bro
btw u can use company recomended(oem) plugs on ur car
the copper application might be hard to find in Pak

Use irridium plugs.

the ones u mentioned are not for alto,they are way too cold for it,check the picture below,the oem plugs for alto are dcpr7eix

AOA the knowledge has been very informative here. will defiantly try to change the plugs and O2 sensor to c if it changes the consumption of my car. but there is another issue in my Jap alto. when i press the accelerator the handbrake light warning turns on n when i press the brakes it goes away. just wanted to confirm is it the wireing or somthing else and is it affecting my cars fuel consumption coz my car is giving me 12 km/l with AC which is way wrong for 660cc. i did showed my car to Nazir auto in G-8 but it was not useful at all. they only said tht Jap alto's are like this they dont give more then 14 km/l and after checking my car they only had to say tht everything is ok in my car :@
One more thing how much difference is there in Fuel consumption between auto n manu transmition in Jap alto???

hello every1,Just wanted to share some information. i went to the mechanic on this sat and told him my situation about the car. at first he said all alto's give less consumption n bla bla. then he tuned my car AGAIN but this time he told me about a filter in a car which if removed can/ might help in consumption. well i removed that filter on his advice and now may car is giving me 17 km/l without AC, automatic transmission. i didnt change spark plugs nor O2 sensor or anything else as they were working perfectly fine i just removed the filter and now its giving me excellent consumption :)thought should share it with you guys. Enjoy
