Ok after i changed my first oil change at 2600 kms to 0W20 from Suzuki, i decided to again test my fuel average. Pour in 2000 LTR of fuel @ 117.11 from PSO, reset trip meter and drove 316 kms with 2 dots and range at 50 kms where i pour fuel again before reserve kicks in. The average that i got is around 18.5 while my meter shows 18.7. Before the oil change my average was around 15.5 local while meter use to show 15.7. This mileage is in local running in DHA Phase 1, 5 and 6. Car is drive around 2980 kms at the moment.

i wanted to share a recent behavior of my alto VXR. i had to apply brakes suddenly to avoid a collision, car skidded to a halt. but, on cluster, airbag and power steering light turned on. i moved steering and it was very hard. i switched off and started it again, but the lights were still there and the steering was still hard as a rock. i turned it off and waited for a minute or two. after which when i started it, the car was back to normal. i was wondering that why the car reacted like that.

Never calculate the fuel average this way.
Calculate F TO E. Reset trip meter when you fill the tank. And then the second the reserve light switches on go to the pump and refill FULL TANK again...now you have precise figures...devide the amount of litre purchased with amount of km covered in trip meter.

0w20 wont give you much results, wait for another 2000km. Although already with not so precise figures you still have +4 km/l change.

What is considered full tank? Filled upto cap neck level or filled upto when the petrol pipe noozle makes click sound and stops? On new car does fuel average improve after some mileage? How?

Will do that. Normally i just pour not more than 1000 or 2000 amount of fuel in one time without the reserve light hitting as i have been told not to let reserve hit, it can cause katchra in fuel to come in your pipes, fuel filter etc. I reset trip A along with resetting fuel average.

So we have a new alto ags added to the family in gray color. Got it on ready delivery with 10k discount in graphite gray color. So a week and 350kms later here are my thoughts

-the seats are very comfortable, I’m used to city’s hard seats and these are a nice change from that
-fuel average so far this week has been 17km/l in Peshawar’s traffic.
-ags transmission will take some getting used to
-paint quality on the car is abysmal at best
-interior plastics are average. Not that great but they fit well and don’t rattle.

What is the normal life for an air filter after which it should be replaced specially in Lahore?

To me 5000km. Others believe in 10k.

Thanks. I will stick with 5000 as well. 10K no way specially in the kind of dusty environment of Lahore.

If you are getting a guard filter replace every 5000 kms, If you are buying the orignal Japanese one which i belive costs around 2700rs, The life is a good 20,000km with frequent cleaning. on every 5000kms.

Its the genuine filter that came with the car. Since my driving is low, i got my oil changed at 2600 but they did not changed my filter and instead cleaned it and put it back.
