I think it will be other way around. Gst is increasing which will affect those who have booked and r awaiting delivery. These group of people will have to pay extra in terms of gst.
Those who have not booked yet, they can wait for this WHT exemption but at the same time they have to pay 17% gst which is increasing from 12.5 to 17.

I have read on this forum and also on tv news abt mini budget and also expected increase in gst. Anyways bro plz share link of pakwheels here so that everyone can read. New auto policy was introduced in the budget in June 2021. In there any date mentioned on the link which u r refering to??? I think it will be clear after mini budget

Talking about Alto, being under 850cc: Additional Custom Duty (ACD) & Federal Excise Duty (FED) both are already 0%. WHT is 7,500 (filer) and 15,000 (non-filer).

Will this 7,500 or 15,000 provide any significant relief to the buyers?

Buyers like me who have made full payment and waiting for delivery have concerns that they might have to make additional payment upto 50k at the tine of delivery in respect of sales or other taxes.

So such news might provide some relief to them and curb the rumors spread in market.

However still certain things need further clarity.
My personal POV iw that despite of certain changes in tax structurre, govt will try to maintain the overall twx burden unchanged and buyers wont be needing to pay additional amounts.

Thats true bro. We r awaiting delivery of our alto. We r more concerned abt GST if it will go up to 17% and FED 2.5% and we might end up paying much more additional amount.
Tax ememption will have impact on new buyers but at the same time they have to pay more gst and fed if it will increase.

i would again ask u to share the source of ur news indicating towards increase in sales tax/FED for small local manufactured cars specifically.

Govt makes policies and subordinate departments implement it in economy.

Overall policy is clear that govt is looking to reduce import bill and will make car imports (which is very small part of import bill) expensive by application of certain duties and taxes, nowhere it has been mentioned that duties/taxes on 'local manufactured small cars' shall be increased while it has been reduced recently in july and havent been implemented 100% as some are still waiting for the refund of sales taxes and FED.

noone is so naive to change something which havent been implemented and closed 100%.

aparts from above, there is something called Law of negativity, which says if u think negative then all negativity will come towards u.

Yes bro, I got your point. I just hope things turn out to be like that, but still if GST is enhanced from 12.5% to 17% (uniform rate as per IMF's requirement) and WHT abolished, the tax relief would still be lower than the additional tax burden.

Bro i m worried bz i have already paid increased price for my new honda city. There will be huge impact on my ags/vxl i am awaiting delivery. We all have our financial budgets. To me this is big thing to worry abt at this time.
