Suzuki cultus carburator engine oil capacity

vaqas its doesnt makes a sense to pour 3.5 litres in 1500 cc engine and use the same in 1000 cc engine , its not right , people just follow what engine oil changer or mechanic say , i believe its 3.0 litres with new engine filter , still wait for xulfiqar and storm replies !!

The old 1.6 accords from the 80s have a 3 litre sump - total oil change capacity with filter is 3.5 litres (funny isnt it)

the capacity of your engine is 3.2 litres with filter - when the oil level registers between the two marks then its full, if its touching the higher mark its overfilled but still safe, if above that you risk foaming up the oil.

Sir G Don't be over smart read the Manual first then decide any thing...

sir i also had a cultus i always poured 3.5 ltr oil in it...

it will not problematic for you ........ pour 3.5 ltr oil

from reading the dipstick - if overfilled - drain a little out, and always try to aim to keep oil on the centre of the dipstick scale.

sir, 3 liters with new oil filter .... dipstick shows 20% below the max mark .. ( in warm engine) ...

do i need to put 0.2 litres more ... car does not reduces oil ... and i use to change it around 3000 kms

i have seen ppl putting 3.5 litrs in cultus (carby) ... by this car shows slighly above max mark on warm engine ... so for me its over ...

as far as i know more oil can damages seals ... and faces the same back 2000 in my ex ride ..

i guess problem states in oil availability in packs , what ever oil u buy they comes in 3 litres or 4 litres pack , so if u are buying a 3 litre pack theres always a chance u will end up having a little bit less and than u are stuck cos theres no 1 litres packaging available , and u are buying 4 litres u have to save it for the next oil change , if u do change it often u are fine if not than u are loosing , but than again if u can afford a car i am sure u can afford that minor loss , but if 3 litres stands in the middle i guess we are fine with 3 litres pack !!

U should be fine with 3 litres, I myself am using 3 litres with filter changes in my khyber, the dipstick shows 20% below the upper mark (similar to your case)

Thanks man, though your reply is quite old but it has solved my tension. I own toyota corolla se saloon limited automatic 1500. It only takes 3 litters engine oil and dipstick shows full mark. My mechanic says it should take 3.5 litters but I do not allow him to put extra 0.5 litters, however I was bit worried that how it was possible that only 3 litters for a 1500 cc engine. Your old reply made me clear.

U should used 3 liters in winter and in summer oil should be in mid of to doted

I have 2004 Cultus VXL. After putting 3L of oil the dipstick shows about 1/2L less than the marking on dipstick. Should I put another 1/2L oil in?

Try adding 100-200 ML first and if it's very near to the 2nd mark just leave it, if not pour another 50-100 ML. Also I'd advise to always buy a 4L pack for Cultus.

Thanks. I have added about 0.65L on top of actual 3L and now the dipstick shows full.

Make sure you check oil level while the engine is warm. If it exceeds the max level while hot that is not good for the seals.

Dont worry use 3 litres there is no harm in using little less oil... Even @xulfiqar recommends using oil below upper hole on dipstick

You mean a little less then Max level, on warm engine? During both summers and winters?
