No need to use Hi-octane only. If your engine knocks, then you can use hi-octane, but otherwise, it is okay to use the normal fuel. Hi-octane will just be an expensive fuel for the same results. The RON number of the regular has improved to 92, which is good enough for an engine with 11:1 compression ratio. Had it been a K10C with 12:1 compression ratio, the engine would have knocked and hi-octane would have become necessary.

The lack of 12V socket is such a disappointment for me. Even my older cultus has it. What could be an alternative for this?

For mobile charging you can use USB socket from audio player.

Or you can install 12v socket yourself

Another question is used (5-8k) VXL or brand new VXR?
VXL may cost 40-50k more than the new VXR.

VXL has many additional features which justifies the price difference.

Both are in my budget, its about new & used. Is it worth paying 50k extra for a used VXL (through a Suzuki dealership)?

Yesterday I visited dealership and had detailed discussion with sales person about difference between VXR and VXL.

He said that VXL is dead item but being sold due to corporate customers. If you see the price difference between both, given features in VXL justifies the price difference.

Regarding fuel consumption he says that it is giving 20kmpl on long and 18kmpl on City area.

Parts are expensive because only available at dealership not in local market.

what justified they are selling abs and airbags for rs.150,000....that is really unjustified....for me price difference should not be more than rs.70,000....

That's what charged by Suzuki in Pakistan. I can justify this pricing by saying Monopoly playing well.
Soon they will raise prices of Cultus as well saying "o ji dollar mehnga ho gya hey" while they import parts from Thailand and Indonesia whose currency exchange rates remain uneffected.

By the way no one asked you if factory fitted is better or not. These airbags and ABS come factory fitted. You can not install them on your own or from market.
