Its very exciting for me to write about my first ride back in 2002/3 when I was student. It was my fantasy to get a fx again, I was looking for quite some time to get and restore an Fx and keep it as a memory/project ride. luckily in Jan this year, one of my cousins told me about such ride. it was same in blue color as I had about 17 years ago, except for the fact that mine was in pathetic body and mechanics, and this was in very good shape, bonnet, hatch, roof , pillars were all in seals and original. Engine was too in very good health as the previous onwer was running on petrol
`; for 4 years despite CNG installed.
I finalized the deal , and then made a list to do on this ride.
1. Minor denting , doors and pins etc.
2. Although the paint was just Ok, but I had made up my mind to give it a proper shower.
3. Interior cushioning and carpeting.
4. Self start servicing.
5. The sound system upgrade.
6 .Oddo was working half properly,, speed showing OK but distance meter not working.
7. All wiring and Lights were already very well working.
8. wind shield buffing.
9. Dash broad repair.
10. A/C installation, & Engine wire dressing
11. To keep in original rims but tires though in good condition but bigger size tires may be option.
12. Removal of CNG kit and Cylinder.
To cut it short, I decided to start work in end of Feb. I handed over the car to known workshop for Denting work and paint job. Unluckily due COVID pandemic workshops got closed and all the progress stopped. car was handed over to me after denting work and paint job( the last compound( pending) 10 days ago. It was handed over to
posish person for dash repair, interior carpeting & cushioning. Posish person is very expert in his work and he did a very good job and made very comfortable seats and nice interior along with trunk space cleaning and carpeting. according to my opinion & taste the posish person bit overdid along side window up/down handles . Engine oil, transmission oil changed, self repaired, new ignition switch installed, battery replaced with new( the old one gone dead as car was for paint job/lock down state)
Now the pending work_: Final compound polish, paint sealant, Odo Repair, A/C installation. Tires. Wind shield buffing, Sound quality is Ok so no upgrade needed.
Plz suggest about A/C in Fx.. the blower and vents are properly functioning. As I narrated earlier, the Engine is Masha Allah in very good health. I am attaching few pictures, rest after final exterior compound and possibly sealant.
I have taken it on Motorway 110 km /hr no vibration or wobbling.Few friends advised me to swap JDM alto engine with auto transmission, but I want to keep this ride in stock . Its not going to be a daily driven ride, will be occasionally /rarely used. All the experts on this forum are requested to suggest about A/C installation and working in Fx( suggest Workshop in Abbottabad/wah/ Rawalpindi). about tires .
