Dashboard can be painted but the experts around me said that paint will chip off after some time. Is that true?

Otherwise i am planning to get a damaged dashboard of FX and get the same leatheroid somehow stitched or pasted on it.

To be very honest the restoration costed me around 140-150k. That excludes AC, tires and alloys. AC was exact 20k. Alloys and tires (both brand new) costed 29k. But alloys and tires were installed 2 months before the restoration started (it was a need at that time)

To get the bodywork look so good on a FX is very hard work. This is due to fairly thin sheet metal. Your denter/painter are very tallented. They have done an outstanding job.

body work is excellent as for dashboard buddy can i suggest you remove the dashboard get it covered in leather or ragzine whatever you find better they both would look good in a different color once again really liked the project drive safe

Wow...restoration is done very tastefully..never saw such a beautiful fx since 14 years.My uncle had one like this in 1999.

Although I enjoyed the restoration but its definitely a tough job. And its tougher for cars for which genuine or good quality parts are not available. Cheapest quality parts are easily available for FX but as we wanted if not genuine but good quality parts it was a not easy to find those. I got door rubbers (new) but it was too hard to close the doors with them. So we went to bilal ganj then. Took whole day and we were just able to find front door rubbers only (genuine) and the guy earned good on those . The back doors and rare screen rubbers are local made and no good at all. (If anyone knows where i can find genuine for those please do let me know).

I also thought to find a good dashboard of FX and replace mine. One I found in bilal ganj was of australian model FX and he was asking 18000 for it. And another black dashboard for 14000 but by that time we already had the interior done otherwise I might have done everything in black inside.

the old interior can be converted to matte black/ carbonfiber/ wood etc
i saw this done on starlet's interior that was in similar condition to that of your fx.

(for which ofcourse you can see my avatar ) but indeed hats off tho the hard work it really did paid off. the seats and color are the most appealing thing for me ... bass ab is garri ko surf se dho kr paint kharab nai karna.... get a proper car shampoo and a quality wax.. the car is love! and happy to see people still loving this car

Engine bay is not completely painted. I was of opinion to get it done but people say it will reduce the value of car (although they knew i have no plans to sell )

Pakistani car market rules are strange at best. Another one is how many panels are repainted

Yes already using shampoo for wash and using mothers synwax (thats what I use on my black civic as well). I really love its results on dark colors

Thank you for sharing info about cost, please tell cost of engine overhaul only. I have to tell somebody the estimate of engine overhaul of FX.

Hi,

I have recently gone through a complete restoration of my suzuki FX. The car is with us since 1985. Alhamdulilah the car was never accident so the body was in pretty good shape but it needed new paint job. I always thought of getting it restored to finest details and finally it has been done. Although while restoring many people made me dis-heart many times for spending so much money on it but Alhamdulilah after it was ready I dont think it was waste of money.

Got body work (floors and one panel had rust), paint job, engine overhauling, complete suspension and brakes and finally got AC in it (it never had AC before but I thought it was now time to get one in it).

The car was ready in 3months starting january 2013 and finished around end of april 2013. Its been on roads since then but due to lack of time I was not able to share the pictures here on pakwheels.
