A- When making global sales, companies need to consider one important factor among so many others which is called "customer demographics". It would be an economical suicide by a company if it ignores this factor. Say, mobile phone operators investing heavily in data transmission networks in the remote rural areas of Pakistan when all that demographic factors would warrant is a basic voice transmission network due to people not being educated and often not having the skills and finances at their disposal to use internet services over GSM. On the contrary, mobile phone operators do expend heavily on data networks in highly urbanized locations where smart phones are hitting more and more customers daily. Point here is, not everything is good or feasible for every market. Companies need to assess market potential and requirements before they delve into investing their money in any region.
Coming to Suzuki GD 110, agreed that the setting of rear suspension to Level 3 might solve the issues highlighted here. But what are those first 2 levels for? It means they would never be used in the region we fall in. Why even bother having those settings available and why not set the first level to current Level 3 setting and then add 4 more levels to create a 5-Level adjustable rear shock absorber? We need to accept that this product was not designed keeping Pakistan conditions in mind which is why I am calling these "problems" in the first place.
Why do locally manufactured products of Suzuki come with stiffer suspension systems and fuller fenders? Because they were solely designed keeping in view the conditions in Pakistan. Suzuki GD 110 is not a thoroughly thought-out project of Pak Suzuki. They have simply imported the bike here disregarding the local demographic factors and now we customers are paying the price. It is just a "Ctrl+A" , "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" situation which we have seen in case of Suzuki GD 110 - no consideration of modifications whatsoever according to the market it is launched in.
B- What does someone spend 100k for? Doing DIYs on things which should have already been considered by and addressed at the company? Generally speaking, DIYs are for "adding" features instead of "completing" features. A fully working fender pair is a must, not an option.
C- Who said seat is hard? It is ultra-soft instead, and almost dead-straight which is why it causes problems in back. These days I weigh 60 kg (yeah I'm too slim).
My previous bike, Honda CD 100, didn't have even one single issue which made me rethink my decision of buying it. It does not make me any happier saying all this about something I had so much wanted to get. But, my friend, this is how I look towards these two things I've highlighted here. I call them issues and I decide not to ignore them. I've tried to convey as much as I could on the subject and that makes my job done. Now it is for the readers to ignore them or consider them.
Agreed, its build quality is superior to all other locally manufactured motorbikes in Pakistan.
