got my GS 150 yesterday, rode it half the day today. Couldn't feel prouder of it.

Easily the best bike available in the Pakistani market these days.

I am also planning to buy this beauty.

last mail on this topic was on 20th december. Now what average are u ppl getting after five months.
shahg, swerveut, Shehzie, romano all have gs-150 so please help me regarding its mileage.

Please tell at what speed you get that mileage, as 45 km/ litre at speed of 45 is not good and it doesnt look nice if u drive a 150 at less than 60/80.
What z its inte rcity average in 1st to 3rd gear. its average at max speed etc.

my five months are over .. and since then i had only oil changes and two times free tuning from the suzuki guys, and no tuning for 3 months now, but its running beautifully.. and though as i calculate the milage of the bike it stuns me all the time... it seems that it is getting better and better by the day.. like i used to fill up 500rs worth of petrol and goes to office 5 times a day for 45-50 km ride... and it easily gets me 10-11 days before i get the reserve.. (this does not include the distance that i use to travel here and there except office..).. so i can say its giving 45-46+ on a liter...
Considering the speed, the roads here in karachi are better now but no space to gallop as there is so much trafic, but in early morning i pushed this beast till 110 on straight road from awami markaz to baloch colony flyover.. and this is a routine for me everyday if i leave home early in morning..
the bike has diffrent levels... like if u pick up slowly, ur 3rd gear will end at 40km/h, 4th at 60km/h, and 5th max to 80km/h, but when u push the bike.. like pick up giving full 80% accelerator it reaches 60 in 3rd 80 in 4th and dont know till when the 5th gear will take u.. (i m scared when picking the bike in this manner so dont go above 100-110). Remarkable piece of machinery.. as u have noticed my story before i m soooooo much glad that i bought this bike. after five months and my rough riding.. its stil in mint condition, with not even a speck of rust... just an advice, do balance your wheels within the first 200 miles or if u get a fat tyre.. and first finish ur running and then get a fat tire so to put less pressure on engine while in running period and dont go over 40 during running.. that is my advice.

I am too happy after having this 150 it really an excellent pleasure while riding it. I got an average of 40 Km may be beacuse i used to travel it from Tower till numaish in almost 2nd & 3rd gear on daily basis but iam sure that if i'll ride it on highway lets suppose from KHi to HYd it will give 50plus avverage

Futher 3 person can easily sit on it of abt 70 kg. I also alonwith my wife and two kids travel in almost every part of the city wits ease and comfort

I laso had 2 free tuning in 4 months and using Caltex havolline oil with a fat tyre of DSI 100-90-18

change its tyre to its origional size, if you want to get a good average, Bigger is the size of a tyre less goes the average. And it also affects the engine if you are riding it with the load of full family.

(This doesnt mean that by getting a tyre of a 70 CC you will get the average of 70 CC engine)

While the new GS150 maybe cheaper, Suzuki co. has compromised quality. I cant tell what more was done internally but from what i see in the cosmetics here is what i concluded. See photos for reference.

1. Handle levers arent painted on the new model
2. Headlight mount is painted instead of chromed on new model. Paint is cheaper than chrome.
3. Rear shock cups painted.
4. Indicators not the ones used on international models on the new model. Instead these are similar to the 100 and 110 models.
5. Same Mikuni BS26 Carburettor used.
6. Larger gear leaver used which is better than old model.
7. Speedo meter's covers arent chormed, just painted. Its the same with the headlight cover, ie black plastic in new model.

Mods to my older model GS150.
Fat 100/90 - 18" rear tyre (got from radio Pakistan)
Single HID system (total cost 5k with DIY installation)

Ive opened up the carb for tuning. It isnt that bad as the suzuki mechanics tell u. Just have to be careful with the rubber diaphragm.

Future mods intended (if i have the time)
1. Front fork and disk brake assembly along with mudguard.
Perhaps CG125 deluxe's parts. Ive already seen one gs150 with a disk brake so i guess its possible. It looks cool btw.

1. Get alloy rims or fatter rear tyre rims, again cg125 deluxe's 17" rim. These are much wider.

Guys. Do send in your modification photos. Id love to see a disk brake/fork assembly mod. Suzuki shud launch the 'EN125'. This bike has disk brakes, alloy rims and good fairing as well.

i dont have that sharp eye but can see the diffrence, and i agree that they have lowered the price but i m afraid they have covered it up with compromise with quality.. i was told about the chrome that since karachi is a seaside city so there was a lot of rust problem so they covered this complaint by either painting or changing to plastic.. but still i believe as i m riding the thing the plastic back of the headlight or the painted parts have not yet shown signs of wearing off, still if i wipe it i get the gloss as i have took it out of showroom.. in terms of the electric system, i popped up the fuse with the spare one within one week of buying the bike and then put in my dad's national TV's fuse (same amphere) and its been six months and no problems in terms of electric system.. but i do like brother Tarif to put more light on this as he seems to have good knowledge of this.. i would really liked to see pics of ur modified GS150, so i can get mine customised as well..

i m interested in these customizations.. kindy have ur input on this.
1. tubeless rims, tyres.
2. Disc breaks.
3. other add on's.

I had the same fuse problem so i finally just wired directly. I know its bad but ive replaced too many fuses.

Both front forks leaked one after the other. first at 250km mileage and 2nd at 950km mileage. Had them replaced under warranty. I think this is poor Suzuki quality. My CG125 had better forks.

Shahzie. Definitely go for fatter tyres. You'll feel more secure. The bike will have better grip on the road. Factory tyres feel like a CD70. The bike skids on braking. But only go with 100/90 - 18. Any fatter than this wud have the tyre rub with the center stand and wear out the tyre from the sides. Besides this it wud put load on the engine. Trust me. Ive done it.

thanks for the advice about the tyres. i currently have Service 3.50-18 tyre, there was also a Good Boy korean tyre of 4.00-18 and 4.15-18 respectively, they said 4.15-18 will fit ur bike without problem but that is at far as it goes, so the tyre that ur mentioning, is it the same ??? and about the front forks, now i know why they make a "tuck" noise when i get into a bump...what do u think should i claim warrenty.. and how do i show them that the shocks are dead ??? and would they b asking for any money or something.. as i m at 5th month with 3800 km running.. ??

Avoid the Good Boy Korean tyre!! I just recalled thts the tyre i had replaced. Its around Rs. 2.5k. It will raise the bike by 1inch as well making it look odd. Im a shortie so i know the difference. Its the same one which will touch the center stand.

Shock... u poke ur finger under the fork where the front brake is. If its oily, its leaking. I presume u clean ur bike alot otherwise it pretty much shows around the rubber seal near the mud guard on the fork(s). Tht thak sound i got when the 2nd shock leaked. Thts when the shock has traveled its maximum.

I was told 1year or 24000 km. Whichever comes first voids the warranty. Do confirm the 24000km though.

thanks for the advice abt tyres. in case of shocks i seldomly wash my face how can i clean the bike, i get it to carwash every month and have disel sprayed on it and thats it. i was told warrenty is of 12000 km, or 1 year.. whichever comes first.. so i am way within.. lets see what happens.. and borther do post ur customized bike pics when u customize it in future.. okay jazak allah.

I recently changed out my 150's tyres to Dunlop 100-90-18's. They kinda rubbed against the center stand, however the tyres were very good. Therefore, I took my bike to the metal workers shop, and they heated and pulled out the center stand a little bit. Now there is no problem and the wheels run excelent!

I think Suzuki should market the GS 150 with the 100-90-18 tyres standard. The bike is unstable without them but works great once you change them out. The only downside is a little reduced acceleration, however that is a small price to pay for GREATLY increased stability while braking and making sharp turns. You can feel the difference as soon as you change the tyres out, and the ride afterwards is total bliss.

Some quick info for keeping your bike looking good as new (for all bikies, not just GS 150 owners):

• Use STP Son of a Gun protectant spray for all rubber and vinyl parts at least once every 10 days. For seats, handles, indicator light covers, other rubber/plastic parts.
• Mother's Chrome Polish (yes thats the brand name) will keep your chrome shining brightly
• best motor oil I found for 4-stroke bikes available in Pakistan: Shell Advance Sport 20W-50 (Available at most Shell service stations).

masla ye ha k i have 110 Flash..last few months se jab mai engine oil change karany jata hun to pori qty mai oil nahi aata..its mean k ring piston are lossing thier life.., but aik do martaba mane petrol pump se sealed open mobil oil dalwa liya..coz i had to urgently travel 100 Kms..but jab mai wapis Multan aya...next day..i checked again engine oil..tu wo pori qty mai tha...conclusion ye k jab mai acha wala oil dalta hun tu wo sara khushk (dry or whatever) ho jata hai...ganda oil use karo tu thek hai...(lolz)..so wht i shuld do??? plz share ur views..

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.this is possible, but you will need to change the rims also, and that would be rims that will support the tubeless tires, and that are expensive, hard to find also, so keep trying to find that............

Munir Traders in front of Zimindar Hotel on McLoed Road will help you in this regard surely..............go to them, and tell the story, by the way, i am again telling you they are expensive.........but you will find best from them.

Another thing is you try good tires like i have used in my bike, i.e. golden boy and yokohama, as those will not disappoint you on the road......................i have made two trips of 400+ km with them by the way without a puncture............so there are options, first make your mind, and if you want to switch on tubeless tires, you should have 15k+ baby.....................best of luck and keep us informed.
