there is no change in the carburetor, all models of gs 150 use the same type of butterfly type carbs

guys theres a BAD UPDATE from me for the future Suzuki GS 150 owners.
last saturday i visited suzuki motors with my friend who's come from Saudia to buy him a bike.
but as soon as i walked to the GS150 I almost pulled my friend back out of the showroom in SHOCK !
The craftsmanship in bikes on display nowadays SUX !
its not even cheap its pathetic.
the weight is reduced.
quality seems 4th class just from the looks.
and that raises a doubt in my mind for how much have they lowered the engine quality n performance.

man i was lucky to own the bike when it came fresh in the early days.
now its a disapointment for the new buyers.

Removing certain accessories is understandable, but reducing their quality isnt.
Ask any suzuki owner who has kept the original GS 150 model n the current one, n he will definitely praise the original. Y, because not only was it better in terms of performance, it was also pretty rugged. for example, the timing chain in the new version is pretty substandard compared to the original one. that is why the engine has soo many different noises developing after only a few thousand km... n then the new model looks pretty bare without those accessories, so sum1 would rather pay the extra n get a complete thing.
But i guess thats just the way our market works.
The world gets honda, toyota n suzuki cars with most options as standard, whereas we have to pay through the nose just to get the basic options..

I think Suzuki GS-150 has timing belt and not timing chain

Sorry for the absence.. its been some time that i have posted.. but the news is so good that i couldnt resist and with even my exams going on i need to post this...

I have a friend working at the suzuki engineering.. he has leaked the news that two bikes are on their way to the market..

he says that they are in the testing phase of surviving pakistani road conditions and after a certain mileage they will be sent back to Japan for their expert to modify them according in best favor for pakistani roads..

He talked about two models...

One he says is a 150 cc cruiser type, and is automatic gear.... (which he says is till now facing disapproval, as the local experts are rejecting it keeping in mind pakistani traffic conditions..
Second one is the 125 cc model, he says it is close to the GS model of India.. but is not sure if the same bike will return from japan after approval. This one he says will most probably be around within a year in production.

I have sold my Oct 2007 model to my cousin and regretting it. i was looking to get a 2012 zero meter again.. but after seeing the quality of GS now manufactured .. its hell... i still have spotless chrome on the rims of GS 2007 model, but new 2012 model doesnt look promising.

Hope for the best.. lets see when these bikes will arrive..

Crystal headlight. - previous headlight reflector was of good quality new one is very pathetic
Changed backlight. - No difference
Changed feul tank design. - Stickers does not make any difference
Revised CDI archetecture. - Heard in earlier models too much CDIs were failed in replaced by company free of cost even after expiry of warranty period whereas electrical parts are not covered in warranty

Yesterday, I went to university road showroom of suzuki and have been told that Suzuki's GS150 and GS125 new models with discount of 9000 rs on GS125 and 6800 on GS150 will be arriving in a day or two with improved features of;

1. Crystal headlight.
2. Changed backlight.
3. Changed feul tank design.
4. Revised CDI archetecture.

I tried to confirm it with other suzuki showroom on Akbar road and they say that they have no information on this and they are still selling old model (he mentioned word "old"). May be they are trying to get rid of the stock at hand first...

I believe that University road showroom was telling truth as he showed me the company's notification of the price of the bike and their comissions.. he said that he would have let me have it but he has just got it and will be sending someone to make copies of this.

So if any of u guys can confirm any news on this i would really apreciate it.. thanks.

AOA, everyone i have a suzuki 150 2006 model black, bought it used and replaced its carburator with latest available for better millage, its give me appoxi 40 to 42kM/lit and i have installed new orginial air cleaner bought from suzukiand also replaced its rear tyre with honda deluxe 125 tyre fat one, i have installed sepearte light near front mudguard for better light sogo brand 12v/55watts.
Replaced normal acid battery with chinese 12v/7AH sealed.
now i m planning to get my bike repainted.
a little noise from its cam shaft, my machanic says cam needs replacement. otherwise engine is fit, doesnt eat up mobil-oil or smoke rings are fit... so i m thinking to go with the slick 50 engine treatment.. is anyone used it in bike engine??????
i change the following items after every 1000kms
Engine oil caltex
Engine Oil filter (two types available in lahore from ittehad autos mclo-Road) local made Rs 40/- and original thailand made 140/-
i use local made its also good.
I clean my bike air filter after every 10 days or so with a little amount of petrol, then use mobil oil and fit it back...

no issue with the electric system or CDI, chain loose or any petrol tank air lock...
its the best bike i have driven so far... and its very stable on high speed
i normally drive at high speed always above 60km/hr and the average it always 40km/lit
