Suzuki GS150 (Photos and comments)

Salams Dear All, I am living in Malir Karachi & user of 70cc category since long, After checked this forum, recently i bought used GS-150 Model 2008 sealed engine with 11000 Km, in perfect condition, it run very smoothly, handelling good & felt much comfortable.
I have few concerns n want expert users opinion.

1. Felt extra engine heat in this normal weather at feet even can't touch silencer just after rode 5-7 km even low rpm, i firstly changed oil filter & oil with caltex Gtx just after bought but no felt any difference in heat. When i asked a mechanic he says, its normal due to heavy engine which has more heat & installed upside like CG-125 nearest rider body not like 70cc etc, if the heat abnormal then engine would be mess with noise n leakage seals etc but it quite smoth.
   (Is it normal?)

2. Giving 30-33 Km per Ltr in short in city local running.
   (Is it enough being for GS-150?)

3. Brakes are not like perfect, Felt hard to stopp quickly while brake shoes are rubs genuine & good condition. I am not speed junkey but imagin what can be happen if goes near 100 and quick stopp requires?

@zaidi62 first of all congrats on your purchase and welcome to Pakwheels,

1. No it should not be that hot that you start feeling heat at your feet. it produces bit more heat than smaller engine but not that much, may be you are new to it so you r feeling it more.

2.Avg of this bike strictly depends on the way one rides it if you ride it gently with avg speed of 65km/h you will easily get avg of 40~42km/liter but if you ride it with speed of 70+ and with high rpm you may get 27km/liter too.but I guess your bike needs tuning if you haven't got it done yet.

1. Yes I agree with you, brakes are not poor but not perfect too and one should need perfect brakes with such power, Last night i had a bad experience which made me to think of disk brake option seriously.

Thanks dear @gr8_paki, U may b right, i had never touch 65km most probaly i went on over 50km bcoz of lousy brakes i ever remain speed as per bike's brake ability and ran on low rpm under 5k thats why i has concern regarding average. Anyway will c n get more experience. Overall bike is good n comfortable.

@ZESTY, regarding the oil quantity, I have had the oil change of the GS150 and the mechanic always uses the 1 liter can; so I assume the quantity is 1 liter. As till now, I didn't had the oil filter changed.

@zaidi62, my GS150 just has 1200km mileage on it and during the initial running phase, the engine felt really hot, but this was back during the last summer's months and the bike was new. Now, at this stage, it doesn't heat as much as before and I hope the condition improves as the GS150 puts on more kms. I didn't lately check the fuel average and I hope it is around 40kms.

well i am gs 150 lover..
but i dont like its shape..so i want to change its body and rare sespention..
i am keen to shift gs 150 engine to a bit attractive body like gsxr 250.
what do u gys say. help me with suggetions

@disk_jockey you mean some thing like this?? well i think it will be time consuming and costly try and if you put that much weight on 150cc engine there will be only looks left with no power but if you got even some thing near to it, it worth that effort, gud luck frm my side. I think experts should give some suggestions abt technical side.

tell me guys what is the exact fuel economy of gs150 if u go between 55kmphr to 60kmphr
and what average 1 can get same speed but on honda 125.
i had gs125 2007 model but it was a disaster on giving me 28km to 30km per liter which was not good at all..
if gs150 give me around 42km to 45km then i'll go for it..
i have tow options
1) honda 125 2000 model 35000 pkr
2) suzuki gs 150 2006 model same 35000 pkr
suzuki is no doubt far more batter then honda..
but my concern is fuel economy... i have to travel around 50 to 55km every day
i have heard that 2011 model of gs 150 gives great fuel eco around 50km per liter due to its new carburetor technology ..
what if i install 2011 model carburetor in 2006 model.. will it provide more efficient fuel economy...??????
or i shoud go for Ravi strom 125????????????????????? what about this bike

atlast i bought a new gs 150 in black colour :).. i am very very happy.. its in running, have done 500 kms till now... will post some pics soon.. will also share my experience once i complete 1200 kms..
