The new Spanish had better power band and low to mid range power also it was less prone to over heating and had even better milage.

Our Haji will do even in 15 days, the compulsory things are a good pan, and packet of gold leaf, plus no opinion during the project. literally sit dere with closed mouth

An engine overhaul will not take him more than a week if parts are locally available but for full restoration Haji can take a lot more then just one month. My last project took 5 long months to complete where two months were consumer by the painter alone. Restoring a bike to perfection is hell of a job, Monoo can tell you that, but in the end the final product is worth all that wait.

Basheer may be a good mechanic, maybe even better than Haji Noor but he is a complete failure when it comes to sourcing spares, which is of pivotal importance in restoring these bikes.

Haji's work is not flawless. My experience with Haji is that he is good at judging where the fault lies when you report him an issue but sometimes he overlooks some minute things. I own two GS, both were restored by him and in both the cases I had to make several trips to his workshop for getting checked those minor things. Restoring a bike is one painful process and getting post-restoration adjustments is even more of a nuisance but you can only ride with peace of mind once everything is working flawless.
My suggestion to you is that you ride your bike for a few days and notice all the things that need his touch then take the bike to him repeatedly unless that problem is resolved, and don't mind his language he was grown up like that We don't have gentlemen in this business yet

yes, i m feeling a bit power loss, i think the valve clearance is not so good. The bike is a soundless as c cd70 but rough idling and bike not remain start on idle at 1000 rpm. As earlier it was smooth on idle at 1000 rpm, i thonk i should visit him again, and say to adjust them on previous setting, as he adjusted some coin type thin metal sheet under the cups of two front tappets. I will ride again in evening for my satisfaction. If its not good as before then i must have to visit him again.

My bike is actually restored by previous owners, i only overhauled the engine, so other things of the bike were already in fine condition. Bike is absolutely trouble free except this valve clearance issue.

I will decide in evening that dere is need to go to him again or not.

Actually i m fed up of his nonsense attitude. I always control my self dere, so its better that i visit him as less as possible

I challenge you that the painter i know, he will do all the paint job of GS in less than 5 days, else week for an engine overhaul, week for sourcing of parts, and a week for assembling, A month is a lot of time

Why did you got the tappat tighten your has became soundless and that the thing to worry about I have never seen any gs500 with soundless tappet I thing your mechanic have adjusted them on your request if he had over tighten them than this could result in vavle damage

that mechanic is not that goof, and stock engine, any engine with good health, has no tappet sounds unless the cams or cups are weak. If the tappets are enough tighten to damage the valve, dere is always a knocking sound on high revs, which is definately more than the tappets clicking.

Just back after a ride on my gs, as weather is good here. Revd it to almost red lines till 4th gear, bike is almost in the same power as it before, just need a good warm up. After a hot engine, the performance is the same, goes 0-100 in 5 seconds checked on my stop watch. So i think dere is no need to re adjust the tappets, will go to haji for a check just on safe side

overhauled of 34500.
miscellaneous like 5000 on different jobs
so it costs me something around 305000pkr.
