I have the 660cc EFI turbo JDM variant of the same car. A few things to keep in mind:
- You will need GL-5 oils for the front and rear differentials, and GL-4 oils for the transmission and transfer case.
- The front axle has manual locking hubs that need to be locked by hand when switching from RWD to 4WD.
- Leaf-spring ("kamani") suspension with four shock absorbers. The suspension and chassis are not the most comfortable, but the vehicle can go anywhere.
Any car you're likely to find will probably be worn-out and poorly-maintained, especially if timing components haven't been replaced in time and the cooling system has run on water instead of coolant. Fuel consumption, particularly for carburetor vehicles, is poor, and the gear ratios are very short, so don't expect anywhere near the mileage of a modern vehicle.
That said, if you get one with a G13 series engine, you might be able to find parts common with the Cultus, Baleno, Margalla, etc.
