if an oldie not so technologically advance 800 cc mehran is giving 22km/l...i dont see why a more advance, intelligent and fuel efficient 660 cc Mira should give less than 28...:S any ideas?

bro i dont know why these 660 fuel efficient and small more advance cars are fail in pakistan May be these 660 are not made for paki roads.
bro my elder bro have daihatsu Move and my 2nd brother have Axio 1.5 we have tested many times both are giving around 13 -14km/L in city..both cars are 100% perfect .when i was planing to get car for my uni then i searched hard and even i cantatct through Pw mehran euro2 onwers then after satisfaction i went for mehran just because of its milage.i dont know what pak suzuki had done with new mehran but now i am mehran owner and it is giving me very good milage.Persoanly i hate mehran .it has nothing in it it even we cant call it basic car.
One more thing my friend have swift and honda city both are 2013 and 1.3L now his probelm is swift is giving 10-11Km/l and city is 13-14Km/l now question is both cars are 1.3 but milage is different .
some people have luck with oldy so i think i have it.

Yeah I agree, Mira is not made for harsh and hot conditions like Pakistan and its engine is not used to so much dust where as mehran has a hard-*** insensitive engine....same goes for vitz, even thoguh vitz has a very clean and smooth engine, its very sensitive..this dust and msoke all arround simply Screws up these engines
About the city and swift part...well thats understood..1.3 ivtec is obviously a very advance and intelligent engine and its made by Honda also making more horses from an equal sized engine compared to swifts one which is made by suzuki..so even though swift is lighter it still gived bad economy than city.....

Bhai mehran ki body is light as a paper. No extra accessories. Dats y its giving good mileage.
On the other hand JDM cars are rock solid and fully loaded..

Yeah par kitni light...does that difference in weight outshines the difference in advancement of engine and not to forget the smaller size of engine?

Quality of fuel here is pathetic.. See the actual mileage of DIAHATSU MIRA:

Mira's has a 658 cc KF-VE twin-cam DVVT three-cylinder engine of 43 kilowatts (58 hp). The NA engine is available with five-speed manual transmission, three- or four-speed automative transmission or continuously variable transmission.

A 1980s 3 cylinder F8B engine is ok with that fuel quality. Modern engine needs quality fuel with good octane rating

Fuel quality in pak was very good before 2003 as i read in newspaper and my abba told me aswell he said before 2003 fuel in pakistan was very good and that is why old models cars are still on road but now ya quality is very poor every station has its own petrol.they have diff color and smell ..
No doubt Jdm cars are excleent cars but these are made for clean weather like they have in europe but pak is full of dust we have to clean our air filter after 500km whereas in uk my brother even dont know when his airfilter was cleaned.
That is why Jdms are not giving us good milage .

Now, i wonder that dis may cause much quicker wear out of my AC equipment and much more fuel consumption.
What do u guys say, should i get a thermostat installed?

I just bought vxr euro ii 2 days ago, filled the tank with more then 29 litres (odo was showing 25.1 that time) and have been using it with ac .. Now the thing is fuel needle is just ahead of the middle line that should be 15 litres and i have only driven 145 km .. Doing the maths right i guess mine is giving me a maximum of 10 kmpl ..

That is not a valid test - 3 spd automatic on a tiny chooha engine pulling a 4 wheel car giving such mileage means they are testing it at a steady dyno of 60 km/h and unloaded.

e.g. my wife drives a 2500 cc nissan altima sedan, the manufacturer claims highway mileage of 38 mpg (hahaha) - that is a pile of bull potty, Even since we bought it and even replaced with a newer model it never got anything above 25 mpg. Nissan say its normal and the 38 mpg figure is dyno tested on constant run.

I believe this car uses a thermosensor. If they did not use one then the A/C evaporator might ice up in the cool weather.

Your brother is terrible at maintenance then. I drove in the UK and over EU a lot - trust me you need to replace that filter.
