Suzuki swift 2010 in need of help

Greetings and wishes to all,

We own a Suzuki swift DX Manual, has exchanged hands within family and is a second owner car, a bit shy of 300000 kms on the odo.

The car is currently in a total miserable state. Engine is dead and wont even crank, all the remoable panels have bad repairs to them due to fender bender, the rear pannels have like 3mm thick bondo on them. The car is in a sad state and is parked now since 2.5 years.

Selling this car in this state will do no good. So that leaves us with two options:

1. Do the needed repair works and get and engine running to a relaible state and start driving it again.

2. Get donor car and make a complete swap of all the items other than the shell which would include the transmission conversion to auto along with K12b engine which came in post 2007 JDM suzuki Swift along with alot of other options like ABS breaks and all.

I am more inclined towards the 2nd option and am not sure how can can this happen. Looking for any possible leads.

PS did check swat car markets for a straight swift in good nick people are asking 10+ cant afford that much. Not sure if we can get parts from single one complete car.

Please advise.

dispose it off at the best offer. as wallet holder it is a disaster.

restoration possible - ONLY & ONLY - if you are into DIY and have plenty of time 4 days a week 11 am to 7 pm, for 3 months.

With ability to understand & filter (at your choice) the suggestions made through this forum, go for restoration. You need approx 500,000 to make this vehicle roadworthy useable.

Suzuki SWIFT 2010 is a PKDM vehicle every part is available OEM New in terms of engine suspension and shell panels. You may save plenty of time if your nearest scrapyards does not have parts available.

I agree with the advise above. Restoration should only be done if you have plenty of time and the ability to understand stuff, deal with mechanics, labor, and sourcing of parts. Otherwise it could be a waste of time and money.

I am currently restoring my Khyber and its been more than 10 months, still under process.

Nonetheless, restoration is very very interesting and fun if you are into DIYs.

2 ways to fix it
supervise everything
fetch everything yourself .endless energy and effort required.only feasible if you are passionate about cars

otherway is to drop it a workshop which has body shop and mechanic under one roof like @dani_kk
and ask them for a turn key solution

Yes better advise is to, not to grow a big tree of magic and fantasy of restoring it like a caprice.

Instead rebuild the current engine or change assembly and other worn out parts with new plus use mixture depending on durability. Cosmetics can be improved along with the interior and Airconditioner. That would not be that expensive like 10lac-12lac. Instead you can get it running in good state in 3-4lacs or so.

Can you advise the options and locations of getting a possible donor car?

I know this might not be advised but the car under discussion is a DX and lacks ABS etc as well, so if we are spending over it why not spend at once to have all the goodies at once?

Khyber would be quite detailed restoration where as I think this swift would be a more of bolt on swap.

Please do advise what are you doing for rust?

Yes this is a viable option but fetching stuff would again mean all the stuff is coming from different cars.

Where as one donor car means all the stuff is in place and is exchanged between the shells.

Do you know of any other options like @dani-kk for a comparison?

to remove rust: scrap with sandpaper / drill . Then applied rust converter. > primer > paint

Looking at current economic situation...you wont be able to afford option 2 and car wont worth either

get it in running condition with cosmetics as needed but 1stly make it mechanical electrical sound...you will find parts easily hopefully look for them in market....

btw not to ask but why you exchanged hands with such a miserable condition car?? got a very good deal or …..some magical words caught you off-guard claiming it deal of century later turns out to be PITA deal of your life?
