AOA to all swift owners, I bought swift dlx 2012 a few days ago it has about 37k km on odo, the car is in excellent condition from inside out but it has some minor issues which I would request fellow swift owners to help me with.

1) it makes some noises when on bumpy roads ( how to fix it )
2) which engine oil should I use for it?
3) should I get brake and transmission oil changed ( first and reverse gear gets stuck sometimes whereas reverse gear makes some weird noise when trying to engage it )
4) should I visit official dealership for service and maintenance or local mechanic in both case kindly recommend which dealer or mechanic
5) I feel its suspension is quite hard even though I drove another swift and its suspension was fine, what can be the reason? ( please note it has front yokohama tyres and back bridgestone, does it makes a difference )
6) its seat are quite uncomfortable be it back or front seats, is it normal for swift or mine is an exception.

Note: It was parked near sea view karachi not too close to sea but not much far as well ( it was at creek vista ) does it causes any troubles? I was thinking to get it oiled up as it seems quite dry to me.

1 - Ignore
2 - 10W-40 Grade (Any good brand Shell, Havoline/ Suzuki one is also okay)
3 - Transmission oil change is recommended at 40,000 kms.
4 - a car with 37k will hardly bother you but dealership is only recommended for maintenance/service
5 - It is hard. Check tyre pressure though it is 33/30 psi on door trim but i have seen pak suzuki keep it at 28-30 psi (may be due to local road conditions)
6 - they are uncomfortable.

Note: do not spray oil. check if you can get anti rust coat from somewhere. i don't live in Karachi so i cannot say for sure if it works or not.

5 & 6 are the only cons of this car else its a joy to drive.

You need to do the following:

1. Are they internal noises or external? I mean are they coming from the tires/shocks? I would suggest you get the ball joints checked. When they get worn off they will make noises going over bumps.
2. Recommended for Suzuki is 10W-40 but I would suggest to ask the previous owner which oil he was using, and I will recommend to get a Liqui Moly engine flush and use it, before changing oil grades and getting the oil changed. I am using Zic X7 10W-40 and I am happy with it.
3. If the gears are making a grinding noise, get the clutch and pressure plates checked either from Suzuki or from your own mechanic. You don't know how the previous owner has driven the car and changed gears. Usually clutch and pressure plates last more than 80k km with normal use. My car's clutch and pressure plates are working fine even after 90k kms.
4. Only dealership that I would recommend is Suzuki Carachi Motors in Karachi and Master Motors Lahore
5. Check the date of manufacture of tires, if the tires are old (more than 2 years) they might have become hard, I would suggest you get them changed. Get the cambers checked and alignment and balancing done.
6. My swift has comfortable seats. I don't feel tired even after driving continuously for 3-4 hours.
7. Get the car's underside checked. I doubt there would be rusting but if there is I would suggest you get it checked from Suzuki authorised dealership

it was being used as a 3rd car by the owner and it is a first owner car booked by the owner himself plus I got it inspected from my mechanic and denter/painter they all gave it a green flag, lakin Pakistan hai kuch b possible hai yahan

Go for good quality 75W90 GL4 transmission oil.

I asked for meter reverse cause such a less driven swift should have this many problems.
Khair you need to find the noise by hit and trial maybe its some loose plastic trim or the suspension itself.
Always go for Oil recommended in the owners manual but if the previous owner used some other oil stick to that one now.
Transmission oil would be fine maybe issue with clutch plates. maybe need adjustment
Check the tires. If the car still has the factory tires installed then 6 years is too much they must have gone extra hard.
Never go for diesel spray or oil and any such thing.
If you want to stay away from rust buy some anti rust rubberized coating. It comes in tin (liquid) as well as spray can which you can easily apply yourself

If its such a less driven car why front and rear tyres are different?

Personally I think 36000km is more then enough for front tyres especially if driven in khi, the owner told me front tyres worn out that is why he changed them whereas rear tyres were in a better condition comparatively that is why he didn't changed those.

Hi everyone. I have recently bought Swift 2015 the car has done 39000. This is my first car and I know jack about car maintenance. Help me out here with Dos and donts. Also, I have one concern related to pickup, it dies on me when the AC is on and even if the AC is off it doesn't feel like a 1300cc pickup.

Put it this way, the pickup doesnt really die but it takes a few moments to kick-in

can someone please tell me from where I can buy side mirrors of Suzuki swift ( not the motor ones but simple one ) my car remains parked outside and today someone scratched it so before it gets even more bad and the mirrors get stolen I was thinking to replace them with cheaper ones, please assist.

I want my vehicle thoroughly inspected for anything that might need repairing or replacement please let me know where should I go? I inquired from Suzuki carachi motors and just for inspection they were asking for 3000 pkr let alone working on it, is it a reasonable cost for such inspection? can someone kindly help me in this regard, thank you.

AOA, I have noticed that there are thousands of swift owners on this forum and this thread to be specific but no one responds, some of them have quite some experience of owning and maintaining the car but they seldom share their expertise, I would appreciate if someone could help me out with the following queries.

I bought a suzuki swift 2012 a few days ago and have noticed these issues in it even though the car has just 37k on the odo ( I am not much experienced in car buying and had a mechanic with me when I was purchasing the car ), it makes noises on bumps and on cat's eyes it feels like there's no jump or shock absorber in the car because instead of the car I have to absorb those pot holes or bumps, is it normal? clutch is quite hard and the car does not stall in first or 2nd gear even if the clutch is released abruptly also first and reverse sometimes gets stuck, does that mean clutch plates are worn out? when accelerating the car moves towards left side ( it has two bridgestone at rear and 2 yokohamas in the front ) is it some issue related to tyre or suspension?

The acceleration of the car seems to be on the lower side, is it because of the clutch issue or it might need tuning? finally needs sincere suggestions on this, if I should sell the car or the issues I have mentioned are common and should be fixed easily, the car outer and inner is is excellent condition but still it has quite some issues as I have mentioned earlier, I am not sure if the meter was altered or something but its too late to get that checked....
