Guys, i bought a DLX three months back. Quite recently i noticed the pick up and acceleration has become slow and the pick up becomes even heavier when i turn on the AC. Also, my fuel economy is really bad, it gives me hardly 8-9km/liter.

Any advice?

Please let us know;
Which engine oil
What's the air pressure in tires
When was the last tuning done and what was performed

Check this;
Air filter- if dirty, get it cleaned using pressurized air. If it's still dirty and lost it's color, replace it.

Do this;
Keep RPM under 2500
Try to hypermile as much as you can
Keep tire pressure 33 front, 30 back. I personally keep 34 front and 31 back.
When starting on cold engine, let it idle for 30 seconds, then drive the car slowly and gently- When Idling, you get 0 km/l. Do your best to keep RPM's as low as possible, but avoid lugging the engine i.e don't change to 3rd at 20km/h.
Most damage to engine is at startup and when revving cold engine.

Share the method you use to calculate fuel average- I am astonished to see that low fuel average!

You will have to call Suzuki dealership and confirm. They might give it on special bookings.

The tyre pressure is 30 in all tyres. The car has done 2800 KMs, the last check-up was scheduled by Pak Suzuki at 1000 KMs -- i don't know if it was just checkup or they tune as well.

The engine oil and everything was stock, the one that comes with the new vehicle.

Just to add one important aspect, whenever i refuel, i always put 1000 Rupees hi-octane along with Super. But still the pick up is so bad and the acceleration is really heavy, and even more heavy/slow when i put the AC on.

Get it checked by suzuki dealership your average is way to bad my last month fuel average is slightly more than 15KM/L that too with partly AC on. Swift has a great pick and AC makes no difference on pick as it got a powerful engine!

I will get it checked by the dealer on Saturday. I have noticed Swift's drive is a bit heavy? Is it true for all swifts?

Also, how much liters is the tank when the reserve lights turns on?

First of all- Wrong Tire pressure. It's stated on your drivers doorjamb, the ideal pressure with no load and with load.

Second of all- Your gaddi is still considered zero meter. A new car will eat a lot of fuel due to breaking in the engine and ECU learning your habits. After 5000km, watch the magic.

3rd- Fuel average is calculated like this- Refill tank to the full using Auto-stop/Trip function on pump. After that, don't fill 1 ml of petrol, just tell them to leave it. Drive until low on fuel, go to same pump, refill using the same method. Divide KM driven by Liters refilled. Voila, there you have your average!

For your question about Reserve fuel- Approx. 7 liters.

My swift has 8,500km on odo and there's a problem with its front speakers. The speakers are working but the sound is not of the quality as it was before. Like awaz phattii hui a rhi hai. Is there any way I could get it replaced or repaired under warranty? I know suzuki says ni warranty for electric parts but the car did not even cover 10,000km and its speakers are having issues . Rest is great I just love the drive

If u try Suzuki will favour you n they may change the speaker.

For everyone, don't get your cars foot panels and inner sides of the doors washed if you go for a car wash. Car wash from service station is the main reason for the damage to swifts speakers.

Don't worry about warranty- Covered till 40,000km. I got 3 speakers replaced for free. All they did was to test them by opening the door panel, photocopy of Warranty card and after 1 week, new speakers arrived.

Process is kinda slow, they send faulty speakers to Lahore, then they to go to Karachi, new speakers arrive in Lahore, then to dealership in your city.

So the wait is not their fault:) I've got pictures of the speaker removal a few pages behind, lemme see if I can find it!

lol why? They tested the speakers using different setting in the Equalizer, then decided to replace them.
I have a firm bond with the mechanics and almost everyone there. They know I do my research online and
especially here before going:) ,Warnah straight email to Suzuki japan with their names.

I couldn't care less. Go tomorrow, if they argue, show them this thread where mine were replaced.

Almost everything is covered in warranty except a few items like tires, rubber parts, filters, fluids etc.

the purpose of this post is to gauge the interest in forming a suzuki swift owners club in different cities of pakistan. As we all know that suzuki swift has become quite popular in the last year or so. More and more people are buying it or are interested to know more about it. The purpose of the club would be to share technical / operational performance mean mileage/lite/or cng/average information regarding the car. As well as help fellow members with different issues regarding the everyday running of the car. There would be regular meets and get together as well as cruises. The club would be to the owners and willing to own the car and a desire to help and share information with fellow members. I myself am based in lahore, so i can take the lead in taking off this project here. Other can do the similar thing in their respective cities. If there is enough interest. I hope to this see become a success someday and a use full forum to help and guide the others in having or willing to buy new suzuki swift for other to follow. Lets make it happen guys!!!

A couple of my friend are saying that Swift is not Good with brakes...and they meant by that" ABS will not work properly" and they have some reported case?? Does any one have more info on that...?

Send the email to Suzuki Karachi and they will get them replaced, everything is covered till 40000.
