the guy at the dealer's center had 2 of these and was selling me for 10,000 rs including installation & fitting, but i think you would find it in the market for less. 2 3 months back i also saw an ad on olx for this player selling for 10,000 rs.

I have used half tank (needle on 50% mark) uptill now and i've driven a total trip of 290km, so its giving me approx. 13.49kmpl .... I hv been running 90% on isb expressway with abt 80 - 100 speed range @ approx. 2500-2800rpm n below. I shift gears early, below are gear ratios that i approx. shift at :-

1st @ ~1.8 - 2.0k rpm, 10-15km speed (now in 2nd gear)
2nd@ ~2.0 - 2.2k rpm, 25-35km speed (now in 3rd gear)
3rd@ ~2.2 - 2.4k rpm, 40km speed (now in 4th gear)
4th@ ~2.2 - 2.4k rpm, 60km to onwards upto 80-100km spped (now in 5th gear)

I shift gears early, so yesterday my friend was traveling with me and he stated that it puts load on the engine so dont change the gears early ... ... i change early to get fuel econonmy and i guess ive been successful in it, 13.49kmpl during break-in period ...

so what wud u guys suggest me ??? Is the gear shifts fine for the engine and not ruining engine thrust or power??? Should i continue with this driving style w/o degrading engine power in the long run ???? OR speed up a bit more before changing the gears??? I dont want to ruin the power of engine by putting load on it. :S

In the break-in period, as long as you are shifting above the 2k rpm range, that is the best. Doesn't matter what speed just keep an informal estimate of shifting it around 1.8k rpm to 2.2k rpm. That is the best for your engine. However about top speed try not to go above 80km/h till it has run 5000kms. Else is perfect

When I got my Swift, I started shifting much earlier than you did, something of hyper-milling sort for first 100kms, but then I realized that its not healthy for the engine. Do Not Hyper-mil. Just drive in a casual manual.

Also driving in the 1.8-2.2 range means accelerating slowly and decelerating slowly as well

1.Cost for Swift K & N filter is around 5000 but you will not have to change it for lifetime of car. Just get them cleaned after 80000 kms, it gives better mileage and improvement in pick.

2. Cost for K &N air intake is around 17000.

3. Muffler no idea of cost.

4. Model for swift iridium plug recommended by company is NGK IFR6J11, its cost is around 7000 but it is not available in pakistan. Other which can be installed are Denso IK20, Autolite XP3923, NGK BKR6EIX-11 , these will cost around 4000 and they can be used for 20-25000. They improve the economy, the real change is in pick and acceleration and you really enjoy the drive after installation. I have experienced Denso IK20 and autolite Xp3923 and i have found Denso IK20 to be better.

Woah, 5000 is quite a lot but it brings with it the lifetime benefit. Will have to see to source it from abroad if anyone is coming. Although there is a distributor of K & N in Lahore.

Denso IK20 - Don't these come in Suzuki Swift stock from the company. I heard they are denso and are of the same qaulity. I'll have to check thought to confirm

10,000 is too less man. 12,000 + the fascia kit (the panel that you will remove from your swift)

I have started to feel a little power reduce in my swift on m=Motorway while i am going on 100-110km/hr and when some incline in the roads comes i push the paddle a little and the RPM increase but the speed decreases...?? and in local it does not happen when i am driving around 80-90km/hr the response is awesome at the time....Is this normal...?? car is 0nly 16k driven..

Took it to the ring road with some sort of device installed which shows the mileage and consumption while driving. When those guys told me to shift it to 5th gear and keep it steady on 100KM/H. The device started showing mileage of 16 to 17KM/LTR. This means these guys recommend shifting the gears as early as possible to get the best possible mileage in low RPM??

guys i have changed the steering and the stock steering is for sale and i am 200% sure that nobody would want to change it but still the clock and steering is for sale!!!

Yes. You should shift gears in the range of 1.8k-2.2k rpm to get the best mileage out of the Swift. It doesn't put much load on the engine and at the same time keeps the fuel efficiency at its peak. If you feel the power is still low then shifting at 2.5k rpm would be fine too but efficiency would drop by a little amount.

However the mileage of 16-17km/l is very difficult to get on this Swift in city driving and for that it would require drastic modifications like removing extra weight from cars, filling tires with 33psi and a lot of stuff. For highways its possible but for that keep driving in the 5th gear at 3k rpm max....speed would be around 90-100km/h..would give the best mileage

guys i have changed the steering and the stock steering is for sale and i am 200% sure that nobody would want to change it but still the clock and steering is for sale!!!

No one would be willing to buy unless theirs is broken or want to experiment on them But please do mention your demand...might appeal to someone

Best bet is that you sell it to some shop but it wouldn't go for much there.

I am confused about the car. Looks like a Japanese import from back because of the stickers on the rear windscreen and has DLX alloys but no DLX grill.
But its seats have the plastic on it and according to what I heard, he just got it. Car is a mystery in itself.

there's no central motors on bank road ... its Jan motors

will definitely try to acheive this after break-in period ... but Alhamdulillah i m already getting good average of 13.5kmpl with only 400 on ODO ... means, it'll inshaAllah improve after wards ....
