No such news. And the new model which is the new model around the globe is around more than Rs 1.8million. So it has a pretty hefty price tag along the 1.5l engine. And there are no news of that coming in Pakistan till even 2014.

You are not correct reagrding the price and specifications of swift new model.There are a number of variants of swift with many engine powers, but the 1328 CC DOHC has been replaced with K-series 1200 cc engine in new model and its cost is the same as older model. Check the maruti india website or any other country suzuki website for clarification.There are other variants with 1500 cc and 1600cc engine(called swift sports) and they would be having more price.

Regarding when the new model will come to pakistan, i think it will come when the new model in other countries is discontinued:), it is a fact that pak suzuki brings those models in pakistan which are discontinued in other countries because they buy old model plants at cheap rates.Check that all the models in pakistan are discontinued around the world, cultus was discontinued in the world in 2003 but pakistan is the only country in the world where it is still in production.Liana was also discontinued all over the world in 2007. Mehran was discontinued ages ago.So it seems that current model of swift will be here for atleast 10 years.

Does new swift comes with maintenance free dry battery or plain ags acid battery???? I have plain acid battery in my swift, but one of my friend is saying that all swifts comes with dry battery then why yours came with plain ags acid battery? Can you guys confirm me so i can talk to dealer abt this thing...

Thats what I mentioned the 1.5l is for 1.8million. The 1.2l would be fore surely much lesser. Plus 1.5l and 1.6l are both Swift Sports, hence they carry are bigger price tag
Plus Maruti Suzuki makes their engine in their own country. Pakistan has to import them from Japan, hence the cost would be much more than the Maruti one.

New Swift comes with the acid battery. The JDM one is dry. This one's has a different cover so it appears to be a dry one. You just open the caps with a coin and you will see acid there.

I don't think so. The JDM one is dry. PKDM is acid wali. The cover looks like a dry battery one but you have the caps in such a way that they can only be opened by a coin or anything sharp....its true that this requires less maintenance...but has to be checked

hmm.. dnt know i guss itz dry but iss mai pani daalta hai woh bi long time baad mairay frnd ki swift ko i guss 2 ya 3 saal guzar gai hain and there wux a problem that it wux not starting aur battry ka sign agaya tha phir car keys sai battry kay covers open kiye thay thora sa pani dala aur sub sae ho gaya

Haha. I am pretty sure that it NOT dry, because dry ones are completely sealed. Ill confirm again

Dry batteries are maintenance free means nothing had to be done to them for years. And from the dry batteries I have seen including the JDM car's ones they dont have any outlet for putting distilled water in their housing. I might be wrong but i'll check again.
These are new acid batteries and yes require water but after a long time. Can quote from a personal example that my Civic 2010 has the same battery and it appeared Dry to me too but once i went to get the car serviced so the guy said that I'll put water in the battery too and then he told that it just looks like one but you open it this way and put water. And yes it would require water less often then the previous acid ones.

Dry batteries are maintenance free and does not require pouring water or acid in them, rather they dont even have any hole or compartment to pour acid from .... if u pour water/acid in the battery, then its not dry, as far as what i know abt dry maint. free batteries.

Got a roll of Peel and Seal for sound deadening my Swift's front doors. Will go for Jumbolon + Peel and Seal combo. Will do it soon inshAllah.

Today I went to Suzuki motors for change of horn , but the guys there refused to install snail type Bosch horn saying that by installing a new horn warranty will be void, comments ?

Yes they do that. Apparently electrical modifications void your warranty.
Get it done from any accessory shop but make sure the guy is skilled and trustworthy. The bumper clips are delicate and a lot of rough idiots break them, meaning your bumper will never fit perfectly again.
The Suzuki people won't know a thing and warranty stays intact. Plus they are too lazy to check these things anyway.

I don't know why they said that because I got mine installed by Suzuki dealership themselves. It might be because of close relations with the owner of the dealership but still warranty wasn't void then.

Yes they wont pay much attention to check if there has been electrical modification, if Suzuki people refuse to do it, get it done by an electrician. And yes please do be VERY careful in case of the bumper. It has a lot of clips and screws. Make sure all are removed before the installer tries to pull apart the bumper.

For reference check this link, they installed it themselves and charged me only 500 for installing that (labor charges for installing horn and removing bumper)..says on the invoice.

confirmed ... I happen to visit suzuki center today to collect my invoice, there i checked 3 swifts, all hv the same regular plain acid batteries and not the dry one

I don't think any PKDM car has dry battery. Only JDM cars have. Dry batteries are expensive as compared to lead acid batteries.
