My first contact with a Suzuki Swift... believe it or not was when I tried out a Swift GTi in the UK in Cornwall. I was working in Plymouth at the time and it was 1989. This was the car with a 1300 cc twin cam engine and was a three door hatch. I still remember the look on the face of the salesman sitting next to me when I stuck to the tail of a hard driving Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT on the winding roads the enine was a real gem.
Pakistan 1992 ................the swift was still the bloody khyber..... and then lo and behold the swift was introduced was it 2000 or later................Comes from having idiots as sellers and even bigger idiots as buyers.... who started to buy it like hot cakes. Now a model not made anywhere else and considered modern here. and with an engine from a damned jeep.
At this rate we will get the swift but in 2018.
