Went to see personally vitara at the showroom. I find it better than vezel in every aspect except the fuel average.

I amusing new vitara it’s good. I think as per my opinion both cars are good but have different edge. Like if you need good drive with four wheel functionality and some different option like sunroof then go for Vitara and if you want batter interer with good door locks hatch back some other features then go for vizel or HRV. Another edge of Vitara is three years warranty local parts available. Vitara has batter off-road experience i drove on muddy and rough field and found good driver over there.

Go for a vitara glx if that's in your budget, also you mentioned above that you need a car that you can take to northern areas of the country so the car has a mini suv like driving dynamics and unlike the vezel, it comes with snow/mud mode, awd setup, hill descent control and i think a form of diff lock. Plus the glx variant has a panoramic sunroof.

As far as off-road drive is concern Vitara is amazing
