Kalam is jam packed with visitors... Talked to a jeep-wala earlier today...

It was expected in the week just after Eid and that's why I made plan one week after Eid. Its season so rush would be there but hopefully situation would be much better next week.

I would be indeed with my family and would love to see the beautiful lakes whichever are accessible via jeep or via normal waking or tracking.
- Is Shahi Bagh Lake accessible via jeep or requires tracking?
- Is tracking to Laddu valley can be done with family?
- How far the Doteer/Badogai/Badwai top is from Kalam and what is the route and possible jeep charges?

-- You can trek till Laddu with family as it is not tough part.....
-- The is after Utror and will take about 1 hour to reach at top from Utror if open.
You should book a Probox/Fielder from Bahrain for whole trip as these can go till Mahudand as well Utror side.

Charges should be around Rs.3,000 Daily + Fuel charges

Dear Kamran, Quadian ....... I have been silently reading your blogs as I have planned trip to Swat/Kalam from 5to10 august. LOL You both already have asked all the right questions. I called some hotels and yes whole swat is jam packed. Rains have further deteriorated the kalam road but not the spirits of our brave nation

@asifcase @ranasherdil Just one question .... is it safe to go on Jeep to kalam during rainy day ? I havent been to Kalam since childhood so dont know if the road from bahrain to kalam poses serious threat ? kindly guide as I have family and kid with me. Thanks in advance

Fuel consumption will be as per your distance traveled.
Your total distance should be around 250-300 KMs from Bahrain to Bahrain.
It may consume 30-40 Liters of Fuel........

It means approx. 5K for fuel. If rent is 3K per day then for 3 days total transportation charges would be 5K+9K = 14K. Will the fielder would be able to reach all the places in kalam for which normally it is said that only jeeps can go there?

Guys, at last I have reached Mingora according to my plan. Well it took 10.5 hours from Lahore to Fizaghat. It was non-stop raining until Mardan then it was cloudy but not raining. I stopped at KalarKahar for tea and then Mardan for lunch at a roadside dhaba. The road at Takht Bhai was as expected blocked but I managed to get out of it in 15-20 minutes. There was very slow movement because of traffic load from Dargai until I passed Batkhela and it increased the travel duration approx by one hour. At Fizaghat just beside Fizaghat park I managed to get a reasonable hotel "Hotel River Green" in 1500 Rs. As far as it was said that Swat is jam packed because of tourists then its not true. Its quite normal rush here and plenty of rooms available at reasonable prices and the most expensive VIP room I was shown was priced 3500 Rs. As I got WIFI access at hotel so I am updating you guys about latest state of my plan. I would share more details as I continue exploring beautiful valley from tomorrow onwards.
